“Tranquil , authentic and welcomed.”

After the cacophony of Tokyo the woodland villa was exactly what we needed to decompress before the next fabulous mind melting Japanese city. We liked the silence, traditional and authentic character of the property and when we met Hiro he was kind enough to spend some time with us and even accompanied us to some local places we’d never have discovered without his kind guidance. These included, of all things a woodland Pizza Hut, carpenters workshop (my envious highlight) and a temple setting up for festival. Thoroughly recommend

Everything. Especially our host Hiro, what a legend... He helped us with every question we had, and even managed to bridge our misfortune with our transportation to make an amazing stay. We sure hope to be able to return some day...

Amazing villa beautifully presented and with wonderful facilities including its own private Onsen. The house was wonderful helping us with booking a restaurant for a private dinner which was amazing as well. Cannot recommend this property highly enough.

“Wow! A fantastic stay at a sensational villa.”

Wow, what a find. A large beautiful Japanese style villa filled with glorious homely touches. The home even has its own private onsen with natural hot spring water piped into the property. The host was incredible and taking us to visit his lovely friend and renown potter to view his work was a treat (there was absolutely no pressure to buy.) And the private 9 course dinner by renown chef Mina Toneri on our first night was absolutely wonderful. 11 out of 10 for this property and the host.

“Stunning Home, Stunning Location!”

Hiro, the amazing host met us at the property but we did already have the access code. The home is stunning and in a very private and peaceful location - you must have a car! I would not hesitate to recommend to others - the general area around the home has a lot to see and do within 100 km and it is a dream.

We loved our stay at this beautifully presented, beautifully located home in Azumino. Set amongst the most incredible mountain landscape, and surrounded by so, so many stunning onsens, this thoughtfully created and curated home is an excellent base to explore a very special part of Japan. A beatiful ryokan in a beautiful place. A river flows near by and you can hear the water running down stream. This is so relaxing. The house was Japanese clean, that is very clean. The house is equipped with anything that is needed. A marvelous sound system is placed in the dining area. There is a natural water onsen in the bathing room. Hiro, the host, was very nice.

“Incredible experience in Azumino!”

This home has everything you need for a luxurious stay. It’s got such a beautiful feel from early on in the morning when you feel the crisp air. We particularly loved the private hot spring, and most of all, the host was obliging, hospitable and wonderful to engage with. We had such an incredible time in the little town of Azumino, which had so much to do! The town has many fruit farms and rice paddies and is just a beautiful countryside escape. We really felt such a great sense of community in this town and met such lovely people. Make sure logistics are well organized - we had to take a train and then rent a car to get here, but it was totally worth it. The drive itself was a treat with autumn foliage throughout the mountains. If in doubt, just do it. Especially if you’d like to get away from very packed touristy spots in major cities.
