“Unique experience, the countryside is staggering, fabulous experience overall”
Unique property renovated to retain much of the original house history and originality, in fact it contains an Ethnographic Museum with artefacts and backgrounds of original families associated with the building. Building and village setting stunning. Owners friendly and eager to please.

“A warm welcome to a fascinating house.”
Our hosts, Tomás and Tomás, were super welcoming. Their fascinating historic house is a homely guesthouse painstakingly restored and revealed. Two downstairs rooms are dedicated to displays of agricultural and domestic equipment, and to family memorabilia. There is a dining room and a garden, with vegetable patch. Breakfast included their own eggs, yoghurt, cheese and baked goods. There was also a simple supper menu. A great find.

We had an incredible two nights in this place. it's in a small village surrounded by a nice countryside. lots of activities at nearby places - cycling, hiking, kayaking, via Ferrata. the hosts were incredibly helpful and provided very good home made dinners. All produces were local. The house has a lot of history and is unique. It was so peaceful there, a bliss. We wished we could stay longer.

“A hidden gem in the Spanish countryside”
A quirky old place (it was a 19th century bodega) lovingly and well restored, keeping the best of the old but with good modern features too, Run by the two Spanish Tomas, who are both excellent cooks. Little English spoken but we had a tour of the place in French, fortunately spoken by both myself and my partner. Clean, comfortable and quiet and a good experience all round. Located in a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere. but don't let that put you off. We would recommend a stay there. Good value.

“Charming historical mansion - highly recommendable”
Charming historical mansion in a timeless countryside. Remarkable facility, with the advantages of a hotel and a B&B altogether. Welcome is both very friendly and quite professional. Good food, good wine...

“Beautiful, traditional property with a warm welcome”
The property was beautiful and unique. It was located in a quiet village, and Tomas made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was a lovely selection of home made cake, fresh local produce and juices. The communication with Tomas was excellent and we were able to check in and head off to Bilbao and then return late at night.

This is a lovely property of character with large comfortable rooms and Tomas and his partner are great hosts. They have renovated it and furnished it with period pieces, and they put on interesting tours for guests. Ayuelas is a small hamlet, but they offer dinner if reserved in advance. It was a good stop for me on a 3-day cycling trip from San Sebastián to Burgos (I also stayed at Hotel Ormazabal in Bergara).
