The Hotel is in the City Center and easy to find. Supermarket, Cafes and other stores nearby. A cute bag with shower items, extra tea, extra coffee and a few different treats were given to us, very sweet. The staff is also very very nice and for the door you set your own code for opening it at night, which is really cool, since you may be able to remember that more easily than a given code.

Location was great, area of convenience as I had no car. But I couldn’t stay at Ayr Hotel as it had stairs n I can’t do stairs especially with a 20 kilo suitcase, an overnight bag n tray of damper my sister had baked for the funeral.

“Horrific - this man should no be in the accomodation business.”
The key to the external door did not work and when my partner sought assistance from Troy he declined her entry, demanded the keys back and proceeded to call the police. My partner is an elderly Aboriginal and SSI woman who wanted to access our room at a reasonable hour (before 10pm) after working hard all evening with family to prepare for a family event. She presented with her elderly sister and grandchild and a teenage granddaughter and her boyfriend who came to assist when the keys didn’t work, all of whom explained to Troy that she was my partner. I was not there having travelled on to Townsville to take a relative home. When I asked Troy the next morning why he had declined my partner access he said ‘security’. He made no attempt to contact me. My partner was forced to flee and stay the night with relatives. This man is racist, homophobic and dishonest - he did not provide accomodation on the night of 24/3/23 and we declined to stay on the 2 nights planned thereafter and he has not refunded our payments as he said he would. We have enjoyed many visits to Ayr and stayed in very friendly motels and caravan parks in Ayr over many years. Visit Ayr, a lovely friendly town but do not stay at Ayr Hotel.
