This is really a pearl. Super cozy, authentic local place to stay. Close to what you need to see in champagne, good restaurants close by and the owners really are something! Way better than we expected, great service and helpful people working there. The rooms are nice and clean and this stay was perfect. Recommend for everyone to stay here. Really something else. This place is a little gem, absolutely beautiful. The hosts were amazingly friendly and helpful. It was only a stop off for us but a very pleasant one. It would be unlikely for us to return to this hotel but if we were in the area again would not hesitate to book again.

Au Chambellan is run by a warm and friendly couple who made us feel immediately at home. It is an old property decorated in sympathy with its era with modern twists. Bedroom was spacious with balcony overlooking courtyard. Bed was incredibly comfortable.. the sort you can adjust to sitting positions etc electronically. Bathroom also spacious and well appointed with everything you need including a very good shower. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and delicious. Parking is secure in private courtyard Safe storage for bikes. Au Chambellan is centrally located in Aÿ, a small town bursting with character and interesting things to discover. It has strong links to Art Deco and Rene Lalique glass. It is surrounded by vineyards and home to several Champagne houses including Bollinger. There is a restaurant over the road from Au Chambellan for supper and other cafes close by.

Au Chambellan is a beautiful old building in the centre of the small town, with rooms that have been very well decorated without detracting from the building's old status. The host Herve is very helpful - for example, providing good instructions on how to access the house with its private parking. It would have been good to stay longer!

wonderful hosts, lovely rooms with excellent housekeeping and a delicious breakfast. Great location, opposite Avarum restaurant. Au Chambellan is a rare find, if you are lucky enough to get a room then you won’t regret it!

Excellent Continental breakfast. We were offered more but declined as Continental is our normal choice. The booking correspondence and welcome on arrival were excellent. The secure parking in the courtyard was important to us and worked very well. The location in Ay, a quiet village just east of Epernay with a couple of bars and restaurants, was the perfect retreat after a busy day.
