“An absolute gem! Highly recommended”

We stayed at Habarana Farm Cottage for four nights as a family of four, including two toddlers, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. The accommodation itself was excellent: the room was spacious, modern, beautifully looked after, and incredibly comfortable for all of us. One of the best parts for a family with young kids was the massive outside garden area. It felt so serene and beautiful, surrounded by nature, and gave the kids a safe, peaceful space to run around and play. The food was an absolute standout. The breakfasts were delicious, and Gayan made sure to introduce us to something new to try every single day. By far, these were the best breakfasts we’ve had in our three weeks traveling around Sri Lanka. We also had dinner at the cottage, which was excellent, traditional Sri Lankan food, with most of the ingredients coming straight from their own farm garden. More than anything, it was the hospitality that made our stay so special. Gayan and the team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, and we felt truly cared for throughout our stay. The kids absolutely loved Gayan! If you are looking for a peaceful, authentic, and incredibly welcoming place to stay, we cannot recommend Habarana Farm Cottage enough. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Gayan!

This place is truly beautiful, very calm, and surrounded by nature. Being located within the forest creates a peaceful atmosphere and gives off such positive, relaxing vibes. I had a wonderful and refreshing stay here.

Fantastic place pretty location and peaceful. The auntie and uncle were fantastic and kind and made the whole experience great. The breakfast was delicious and was tailored to what we wanted, all homemade using the farms ingredients. The auntie made the time to talk to us during meals. We didn't have dinner with them the first night but did the second two and regretted not doing so on the first night it was so delicious. A good location outside the town if you have your own transport. We saw mongese, kingfishers and many other birds just sitting there. The room was extremely comfy and had the best facilities. Wifi box was given to us after asking for this (you may need to ask for this)

The setting in the countryside is amazing, the sounds at night were fantastic. The owner was not there but the husband and wife who looked after us were incredible. Amazing breakfasts and dinners. Truly authentic and lovely, helpful people

A great place, very lovely people and a good relaxed atmosphere. the owner is always ready to help out with whatever needs you have, even if he is not around (quite a busy man... ;))..... The owners aunt and uncle are always around and help wherever they can. The food is delicious! If you dont need luxury or constant phone connection (not the best here) it's a perfect place embeded in natural sourrounding! thank you!

Kumari and Ener are such beautiful people they run the farm stay with a big hrart and the best kitchen. We learned cooking sri lankan curries from kumari and it felt like home. The owner personally called us and checked in to see how we like it. It was such a authentic experience. Thank you

This is a truly wonderful homestay located in a beautiful area. We were surrounded by rice paddies, palm trees and locally grown fruits. The owner and his aunt and uncle that runs the place are lovely and did more than we would expect to keep us happy and comfortable. The food made by them is grown on their land and incredibly tasty! We couldn't be more happy and hope to visit again.

“Perfect for nature lovers”

A nice tranquil location, right in the middle of nature. We enjoyed waking to the sounds of the peacocks and other birds. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Plenty to eat and accommodating of the requests of a 6 year old who just wanted some toast!

We loved the location of the property. It had a real authentic feel about it. The best thing was our amazing home cooked breakfasts and how friendly and welcoming our hosts were.

“Lovely place”

We love everything about this place. Location, the host, and the food. We are in the middle of the rice paddy with very fresh view and air. They offered us dinner (2500.each) with very generous serving as well as the breafast. We were well taken care of by our lovely host. If you need to relax and breath away from the city and busy tourist sport, this is your place. I would love to comeback here .

Very nice and original place, with lovely and friendly staff. You can feel yourself like in the jungle, with some peacocks running around 😀 Nice breakfast also.

“Amazing”

It was from far my most genuine experience in Sri Lanka. I enjoyed my room with private bathroom but what truly got my heart is how beautiful this family is. Morning and night, I was able to enjoy authentic homemade Sri Lankan food and beyond that she adapted everything to my vegan diet. Everything was made with products grown in their farm and cooked on wood fire ! I also got to learn more about their culture and some Sinhala words. Highly recommend !

The staff were really friendly and very obliging and the food was also tasty.

The family were so lovely and accommodating, breakfast was delicious! The rooms are very clean, the aircon works well and the beds were comfortable. Lovely views of the surrounding area.

A wonderful land offering a genuine farming experience. You can travel easily to Sigiriya. It's like living on a farm, complete with your own cottage. The caretaker family is awesome and helpful, and the food cooked by the lady is delicious. Don't forget to visit the nearby cultural center on weekends. They host multiple traditional dancing activities that you can enjoy. It's within walking distance from your cottage. Take some time to relax and explore the area, including the tree house.
