Loved the seclusion. The staff were all so welcoming and easy to get along with. The b&b was in an idealistic spot to recharge your batteries and connect with nature.

⚠️ Strong Warning – Do NOT Stay at AOTERA Lodge ⚠️ My experience at this lodge was shocking and dangerous. I strongly advise against booking here. • Fraud on the First Night: Instead of staying at AOTERA Lodge as advertised, I was placed in a small, dirty hotel on the main island where the toilet was broken and there were cockroaches. That hotel costs around €30, but I was charged €114 – simply because AOTERA Lodge was overbooked. I only found this out later. (I was told I couldn’t come to the main lodge because the boat had already left, but that makes no sense as the boat is a privately run boat by the owner himself and my plane was not late at all… ) see pictures of the dirty hotel attached • Life-Threatening Incident with the Captain: When I finally arrived at AOTERA Lodge, I needed the hotel’s boat to get to the main island. The boat left very late, and when I asked if they could call my tour operator (I had booked and paid an excursion with a diving company and was anxious to lose my money) , the captain completely lost control. He was clearly drunk, shouted at me, threatened me. Meanwhile the motor of the old boat was broken and I was alone in heigh waves in a broken boat with an aggressive funk man who shouted at me. I was alone in the boat and feared for my life. Out of fear, I jumped into the water and swam to an island. On my way back through a very wild island full of thorn bushes that destroyed my legs , the captain repeatedly followed me, shouted at me, and showed me his knife from a distance. I had to hide in the bushes for hours. I later reported this incident to the police in Rangiroa. • Unacceptable Refund Policy: After this terrifying experience, I demanded to leave immediately. At first, the owner refused to refund me. In the end, he gave me €200 back but insisted on keeping the rest as supposed “booking.com fees.” 👉 Conclusion: This place is not only dishonest but also dangerous.

The beach and island is fantastic. Very pecefully and very wild nature. Very friendly stuff.

The beach on the island was excellent! You can feel like on your private island. Service by the owner (pick-up from the airport, communication on booking, drop off to the airport) was really nice.

Location is amazing for the price.. staff are lovely, and food is great (portions are huge). Also there is no shared kitchen - but you can put things from the supermarket in the fridge - we did this to make packed lunches each day.

“Magnificent island and good bungalow on the beach”

Aotera is an amazingly beautiful tiny island. The nature is amazing, the lagoon right outside the bungalow is beautiful. You have to come here while in Rangiroa! The chef on Aotera is truly great at cooking delcious meals and was super kind and gave amazing service! We were happy to stay here a couple of nights for our honeymoon. Memories for life. Got picked up at the airport and the boat shuttle went very smoothly. Staff is nice.

Going to the Motu and the bungalow there is very very nice. It has amazing views and such peace. Also great we can use the canoes for free.

The location is superb, isolated, quiet, scenery and beach is perfect.

The location is at 30 min by boat from the port of rangiroa ( you get a pick up from the airport). We had a lake view bungalow ( was chosen on purpose by us) and the view was beautiful. We were welcomed and lead to our bungalow upon arrival . The bungalow is newly build and clean. Wifi worked very good inside and on the terrace. The location is silent, remote and perfect. They have a restaurant and you can serve dinner and breakfast there____. DELiCiOUS! !

“Dirty accommodation, very bad and expensive food.”

The only good thing about this property is the location. It’s almost a whole motu where there’s no one else, the beach is gorgeous and virgin (all the shells are living shells!)

Everything was perfect! Location is beautiful, host and the team are friendly. You feel like on the private island with the amazing view to the ocean. The transportation to the main village is included so you can easly get there in the morning and com back in the evening if you want. The food was good and the price was ok.

The location is beautiful. We had a view to the sea and it was amazing! It is a bit far from the main place but it makes it very unique and special. You can feel like you are on the private island:) The transportation is included and you can take the boat every morning to the village and back afternoon if you want. The host and all team were very friendly and helpful. We got a bigger bungalow than we booked and we had enough space for us and for our son. The food was fresh and good. The price was ok. Bungalows are nice. I would love to come back again one day!

Minimal breakfast, extremely disappointing, coffe to tea, a slice of bread and jam. Dirty tables, no table service. Family personnel, incompetent and incompetent in the activity they carry out. Location incredible beautiful, beach and ocean wonderful, the location is on Motu with nobody for miles. The bungalow are ok, clean when you arrive and no small.

“Best beach choice”

Amazing place! Long endles beach, Laguna. To go there the take you with a speed boat...so boat trip is included :)...But only 7.30 a.m. for activities and back 5 p.m .Recommended!
