“Smart, comfortable hotel in Downtown Austin”

This was my second time staying at the Royal Sonesta for SXSW music festival. Everything was great. I liked my room a lot, which was a generous size, nicely air conditioned and had a great bathroom. I would happily stay here again for SXSW or any time I'm in Austin.

Booking upgraded us (due to my level). We were immediately checked into a gorgeous corner suite on the 8th floor with a very cool view.

The staff were amazing, from the valet guys to check in they were so wonderful to deal with. The rooms were nice and clean and so close to downtown. Beautiful old hotel with some modern touches. Would well recommend this hotel to anyone going to Austin

The hotel was excellent. It had fantastic facilities, was spotlessly clean and the staff were beyond helpful. The gym was excellent with a great selection of equipment and a lovely pool. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again without hesitation.

“They did not send me the fiscal invoice for the payment despite my few requests.”

I asked the receptionist to issue the fiscal invoice for the payment I have done, and she said she cannot do it but ask her manager to do it. I received nothing even after a month despite my following requests. I sent them a message through the contact form and still nothing received. they really create me a problem with the accounting department.

“Fantastically comfortable room and hotel to relax in after a busy day.”

The hotel is very welcoming and secure. The room was huge and lovely with a very comfortable king size bed. The vanity area with magnifying mirror and vanity bench seat was an unexpected but a great addition to the bathroom. Everything about the room was good. We had breakfast once in the hotel and it was well prepared with good coffee. We also had dinner in the restaurant one evening which was also wonderful and good value. The upstairs bar was also a great place to sit on the balcony in the evening. I highly recommend this hotel. Everyone who worked there were very friendly and helpful.

Well maintained historical building

“A lovely comfortable hotel in a very central location”

We enjoyed our stay. The location was fabulous in a very safe area. We could walk everywhere - to Terry Black's across the bridge, 6th Ave and the state capitol building. The hotel was lovely and comfortable. The foyer was very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were lovely. Very easy to pull up out the front and unpack the car too.
