“Great friendly hostel!”

Raju, Ram and Krishna were all super helpful, friendly and attentive, offering suggestions and ideas and helping with anything they could. Great roof terrace space to watch sunset and rise or lightening storm in the distance. Also small shop with essentials, water, treats, etc., very close by. And ability to hire bicycle to get around Auroville (scooters available too).

The dorm was super clean and comfortable with AC, hot water and wifi for an amazing price - the ac did not work the first day so they moved me to a private room with ac and fixed the ac in the dorm the next day! I was travelling in the off season so there were no other female solo travellers in my dorm however this meant I had it all to myself, I was meant to stay for 3 days only but I really liked the property and felt very safe here so I extended one more before having to leave. The staff were extremely friendly and were there to help/ answer any questions all the time, also when the ac did not work the first night they were quick to have a resolution, additionally any time they drove past me walking on the road they offered to drive me back to the hostel which was so kind:) And on the final day I was able to get a lift to pondicherry with one of the guys also! It is only 10/15 minutes walk to the visitor centre of auroville and there are many restaurants on the road nearby too and a little shop right on the corner of the hostel for quick snacks/ drinks etc. I really recommend this hostel and would definitely come again if I was back in the area - thank you guys for everything:)

It s was really nice. I was feeling at home. Communs spaces are really nice and people who are working here really take care about you. It's close to the visitor center. Have a beautiful stay 😊

“Absolutely recommend for Auroville”

They have the best terrace with lake views, amazing interrupted stargazing. Krishna and Ankush go beyond their ways to help guests, very thankful for that. The stay was very welcoming and chilled out. There are cats and dogs too for you to play with!!

I've discovered a true haven! The attention to cleanliness is impressive, with staff and management alike dedicated to maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. They truly deliver on their promise, and I've never seen a cleaner establishment, even at twice the price. The breathtaking sunset views are an added bonus. The kitchen's spotlessness and commitment to serving only fresh, non-frozen food further elevate the experience.

I loved my stay at this hostel. The staff really made my experience enjoyable and relaxed. They arranged an auto pick up when I got off the bus, and offered me recommendations for the area, as well as providing very useful tips on Matrimandir visiting times. They were genuinely nice to chat to as well. I stayed in a 5 bed female dorm. The room was basic, but had everything you needed. There was a fan in the room and an air conditioning unit (although this was not switched on). There was also hot water in the showers. The hostel had a cool chill out room, and also a rooftop where you can watch sunset. Although it was cloudy when I was there. The hostel can also provide breakfast at a small cost, although I didn't have it. There is also a puppy and couple of lovely cats roaming around! The location was fantastic - 15 min walk to the visitor centre, a small shop and cafe next door, and restaurants within a 15-20min walk.

I stated at funk monk and had an absolutely wonderful experience.They took care of me from the moment I arrived at the pondicherry .. Krihsna brother not only provided the basic customer services ,he did his best to ensure the travellers who don't know the place well to have a pleasant trip . The staffs were very friendly and helpful and they ensured hygienic food and cleanliness of the place .The location of this place was amazing with beautiful sunset ,sunrise points from terrace with nature giving us visual treat and the lake view in the evenings.The common place was so peaceful and I had opportunity to meet many new people .The overall standard of the hostel and the exceptional service from the staffs was second to none .I will certainly be staying here again ❤️❤️.

“Overall good but can be better!”

.Apart from all the good things; We actually booked for the dormitory as we were only staying for the night. But the dormitory was horribly mess. Eventhough they maintain every other room clean, They failed to make sure the dormitory girls kept the room clean. Its important that they keep it clean bcz its not a private room its a dormitory. There were all types of clothes and their things everywhere even in the floor . It was such a mess that we couldn't even stay there for 5 minutes. So we had to pay extra for getting a private room . It was a nice big and clean room but for that money we actually expected atleast a real handwash or soap. We weren't informed about the checkout time and we didn't know about their rules. We thought it'll be as usual 24 hrs stay. We couldnt complete our itinerary as the owner kept calling and we had to cancel all the plans. So it happened to be a unpleasant part of the trip for us.

Great location to Auroville. Great value for money. I stayed in the mixed 4 bed dorm. Krishna the owner was fantastic in recommending places to eat nearby. The rooms were clean and the aircon was great. Can rent scooters for 350 rupee too. Laundry is also available. Plenty of water bottle filling stations too. Hot water was great in the shower.

“Good Property”

The Place was good. I went in Off Season, so no other travelers like me were there. Place has 2 kitten, Tira and Misu, they are sweet. Krishna, the host, was very friendly. Place gives in house Breakfast Lunch and Dinner too, and Amma makes amazing food. Property has terrace so, sunrises and sunsets are easily visible.
