Overview
Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri is located in the oldest buildings in the village of Aurland. Situated on the shores of Aurlandsfjord, it offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Guests can also enjoy free WiFi. All rooms and cottages at Vangsgaarden have a flat-screen satellite TV and a seating area. Cottages are housed in traditional Norwegian fisherman cottages, and include private kitchen facilities. From April to mid-October, Vangsgaarden Gastropub serves meals and drinks in a cosy atmosphere. A buffet breakfast is offered every day at Aabelheim, the oldest building on the site. Nærøyfjord can be reached by boat from Aurland, and the property is a minute's walk from the dock and a beach area. The 12th-century Undredal Stave Church is within 45 minutes' drive. Flåm and Flåm Railway are 10 km away.

“Lovely stay in pretty Aurland”
Lovely small guesthouse style hotel. Friendly welcoming staff. We were in rooms in the main house. Renovated room and bathroom but maintained traditional feel. Pretty location out of main tourist town of Flam. We had a car so very easy to explore and reach nearby sights. Gorgeous walk to nearby waterfall recommended by staff.

“Comfortable, traditional and a stones throw from the Fjord. Highly Recommend for 1-2 nights.”
Great location not far from Flåm. I would suggest booking here as it felt more wholesome and had some beautiful views from the public dock 20m away. The room itself was a little tight but very comfortable, everything you expect from a 1905 hotel. Coffee and tee available in reception and the Gastro pub attached for convenience of dinner - or head to supermarket 100m away. Lots of tourist guides and nice staff. Breakfast was traditional and nice. Do the Sauna and visit the local Bakery.

“Excellent views with very helpful staff”
The view was breathtaking! Very friendly and helpful staff who accommodated us with an alternate room as I miss booked the wrong room. He managed to put us in an alternative accommodation without much fuss.

“Amazing hotel”
The hotel’s concept was magnificent. The fact that the rooms were right by the sea, designed as individual wooden house-style units, and the way the rooms were furnished — along with the breakfast hall and the breakfast itself — was beyond amazing. Everything was incredibly clean and practical: the bathrooms, the kitchen, the balcony, everywhere. If I were to come again, this is definitely the hotel I would want to stay in. But Norway is so expensive that once you come here, it’s hard to come again…

“Great fjord view cabin and great value”
I stayed in the cabin facing the fjord and the view is magnificient. The cabin is clean and nicely decorated. I can cook some simple dinner in the kitchen. Great stay in the fjord view cabin, great value.

The location was perfect for us on our road trip. The decor and old world charm both in our room and in the lounge. Despite the old world charm of the room the bathroom was surprisingly modern. The breakfast was very good in a homely way.

“Marvelous 3 days in Aurland”
The location was right on the fjord! The room was just reenovated and we were the first to stay! Bathroom was brand new and really luxurious. The towels were new and soft. The breakfast was home made with great variety and good coffee. The people at Vangsgaarden were really helpfull and friendly. There is also dedicated parking space for each room. Aurland is so beautiful and Vangsgaarden is the first choice for accomodation. Definitely recommended!
