Built in 1903, The Esplanade Hotel enjoys a waterfront location in central Devonport, with stunning views of the Waitemata Harbour. “Fantastic location”
Fantastic location and beautiful room with a balcony. I was dreading the proximity of the pub, being a Saturday night, but it was fine. The building is showing its age, but that can’t be helped, well not without a massively expensive renovation which would result in much higher rates.

“Overall, it was lovely, and an amazing location”
Great location in the heart of Devonport. Close proximity to many restaurants and shops. The hotel is lovely. The rooms could use some work however our day was very comfortable and we can’t beat the price which was really reasonable. Overall a lovely stay.

“A Wonderful Vintage Stay with Stunning Harbour Views”
I loved staying at The Esplanade Hotel. The best part was that they upgraded us to the Queen’s Suite free of charge. It was a wonderful room, beautifully preserved with 1900s vintage designs, and it had a huge balcony overlooking the harbour. The spacious living room, comfortable bed, and the massive bathroom made the stay even more special. The location is fantastic as well, close to everything you need. A truly relaxing stay and worth every penny.
