The location is a big win. Smack in the heart of Auckland CBD, walkable to the waterfront, Sky Tower, and easy access to the Skybus. Perfect as a base for exploring. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful — happy to suggest things to do and made the whole experience welcoming. The Miss Lucy’s bar downstairs had a great vibe, affordable drinks, and a nice social atmosphere.

It was as expected, staff were really friendly and helpful. Everywhere was cleaned regularly. The rooms had plenty of storage space and the pod was fairly spacious. For the price given, everything was great.

“Nice hostel but not my type!”
Good position, even if not pretty, very nice workers and clean bathrooms (not in the first floor though). I also liked the idea of having a bar in the first floor with a 10% discount so that I could get a coffee without going out!

LyLo is the best hostel ever, super well managed, super clean and the best vibes! I actually extended my stay like 10 times hahah. Staff were so so lovely and always helped me so much when I was totally lost in NZ. thanks guys.🩷

My sister and I booked the room for 1 night for our transit through Auckland. Wish we had stayed for longer! The hostel is beautifully decorated and great for people wanting to have a fun experience, network or meet new people. The property has a lift and a shared kitchen on the ground floor. Self check-in and check out was super helpful too as we reached quite late at night, around 1 am. There is also a cafe on the ground floor which had a good selection of vegetarian options for breakfast too
