Strange people hanging around the area. Music blasting in the kitchen. Bathrooms were not clean, hairs all over the sinks. Kitchen was overcrowded, limited fridge space. My curtain was half hanging off the bunk bed. Someone opened up my suitcase while I was sleeping. Did not feel safe

Close to Intercity buses that also has a left luggage. Can take SkyDrive bus From the airport to Sky city & walk with luggage to Hobson lodge within 8-12 minutes. Can take also smaller airport transport. Very clean & quiet. I was able to sleep very well in a 6 bed room.

It ok to spend the night in Auckland, good price-quality.

“Decent stay”

Each bed had curtains and dedicated sockets, bathrooms are in decent condition, kitchen space is also fine to cook and eat. It was quiet and felt safe. Location close to the CBD and the skybus.

“Clean, calm and organised hostel”

Hobson Lodge is definitely one of the cleaner and better organised hostels I've ever stayed in! I really loved how organised things were - it was great to have not only dedicated cupboards in the bunk rooms (one is lockable if you have a padlock) but also personal, numbered cubbies in the kitchen, which I've never seen before. My bed was super comfy and it was great to have a curtain for private space. As far as I could see, each bed had a socket, light and phone holder. I found it to be a nice peaceful and quiet environment, which was probably helped because the hostel was only about half full. There are clear rules posted about quiet times and people seemed to stick to them, and the sound insulation was great; even with loud music playing in the kitchen, I couldn't hear a peep in my room only 10 metres away. Finally, shout out to the cleaner who I saw there every day making everything spotless!

Very nice and clean hostel, great to meet new people and in a perfect position: just 5 minutes away from Auckland central. Thanks to Victor and all the staff for the great experience, see you next time!

“Good location”

Great location, very central and about 25-30min walk to Spark Arena. Great size room, had fridge and microwave in the room too which was useful.

Friendly, clean and safe. Great value for money. The staff are all very welcoming (shout out Victor!) and overall it’s got a very warm, chill vibe. No complaints (bearing in mind it’s a hostel). Would 100% recommend.

“Good basic hostel”

Classic hostel on Auckland, nothing special but does the job. Big kitchen when plenty of seating space. Beds has curtains and storage space which is nice.

Has very comfy beds and I always get a good sleep here. I like the automatic night light on the wall and the curtained-off beds. Best thing is the fans up on the wall, it would be stuffy without them. The dormitory is strictly quiet but there is a bench in the hall you can sit at to type. When you hear someone talking it is obvious the building has little soundproofing. You can hear the doors (fire doors) and sometimes people walking about, which is fine.

Is really well located. There is a good system to organise the kitchen and also the rooms have a lot of storage, a cabinet and also a drawer underneath the bed. The self check in, is simple and easy. And there are nice corners to seat around the hostel

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Everything was well organized and made our stay very pleasant. Highly recommended

“Fabulous”

The place is spacious, facilities are well maintained and clean. The location is perfect, easy to catch buses and walking distance to anywhere in the city. Lots of restaurants, dairy shops, cafe, supermarkets etc around here. Staff is helpful, lovely and polite.
