Upon arrival the owner was there to meet us and had left us a homemade spongecake. As we arrived late we had asked for some breakfast cereals, milk and fruits. It was all complimentary. On the first morning the owner brought us his own free range eggs :) In the neighbouring yard there were sheep and the kids liked them very much. The owner wanted to take them further away, but the kids asked him to leave them close to us. Heated (for a small extra fee) pool was a great asset at that time of year and we enjoyed it a lot. The closest house was about 200-300 meters away behind the trees, so we could enjoy relaxing solitude and birds singing. Prines Veranda restaurant was at a nice evening walk distance with its super kind owner and great home cooked food.

The villa is beautiful, spotless and very comfortable, with lovely outdoor spaces and pool, and a great sea view from the balcony. Litsa and her father in-law were great hosts, suggesting great beaches, places to visit and local restaurants. We'd happily come back the next time we need somewhere to recover from the stresses of life in the sunshine.

The villa is up in the mountains, very peaceful and has stunning sea views. You do need a car and Rethymo town is just a 12/15 minute drive away. There are shops and restaurants a 5 min drive away too. The first night we ate at Verante which was lovely. Good food and nice seating area outside. The photos don’t do the villa justice, it is even nicer in real life and is equipped with everything you need. There was food and water waiting for us when we arrived. There are a number of seating areas outside and the best views are from the very top. I liked that there were built in mosquito nets on all the windows and doors.

What a fabulous villa! It was so spacious, immaculately presented, and completely private. The views to the sea and over the hillside and mountains are beautiful, especially from the roof terrace where you can watch the sun set. The location is very tranquil, yet only 10 mins walk to some lovely local tavernas and bars. A few mins drive away from some local supermarkets and 5 mins from a Lidl. The pool area is amazing, sun all day long, with a couple of nice seating areas in the shade, which was needed. The driveway is very large with an electric gate, and also has a basketball hoop, which was great for my son. Litsa the owner was very helpful providing suggestions on places to eat or visit, she even surprised us with some essentials in the fridge upon arrival. Although we didn't meet her as she was on a family holiday, she kept in touch and made sure we had everything we needed and ensured her wonderful father-in-law Dimitris was on hand. Dimitris popped in on our last day and gave us a lovely, thoughtful parting gift. 15 mins drive from Rethymno old town, so is perfectly placed. We wish we were still there! Fabulous villa, fabulous location, fabulous hosts, would recommend to everyone!

all clean and modern, with a really big, beautiful pool, which was a lot bigger than the last two villas. We have gone to in Greece.
