Very friendly owners and very helpful with advice on local amenities. Breakfast was delicious. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The b&b is located at the edge of the town so is quiet. There is a footpath all the way into town

“Quiet at night with a great breakfast.”
Quiet location on the edge of Athy town, nice to hear the birdsong in the morning. 10 minutes' walk to Clanard Court Hotel for dinner. Very good breakfast with the option of French toast and pancakes as well as a full Irish fry. Very nice and warm owner served us and chatted at breakfast time. The electric shower had great pressure.

There was a strange smell in the hall when we entered. Cobwebs on the Zelandor and in the bathroom. My son's sheets were stained with old blood. The toilet bowl was dirty. We had the bathroom door open and I was sitting on the bed, and you could see it. The coffee glasses were fine, but the bottom wasn't clean. A deep cleaning would be good.

“Excellent B&B with a top-notch breakfast and lovely hosts”
Really liked this B&B. The hosts were great - cheery, chatty and informative. The breakfast was top-notch with a lovely presentation making it a pleasure to relax and chat with other guests (Electric Picnic was on, great conversations). The house and garden are both very well looked after and we were fed with their own produce where possible. Highly recommended, it's about 16km from EP. if you've already bought your 2026 tickets! For dinner,we walked the 600m on a lovely quiet road to the Clanard Court Hotel for a really superb meal at a very reasonable price. We were there, not for EP but to cycle the Barrow River and Royal Canal. We rented bikes in Vicarstown at the Vicarstown Cafe (great service, very good bikes and a nice little café too!). Our advice is to cycle towards Monasterevin as the surface in that direction is superb. We cycled both and the route in the other direction (Carlow) is fine for the first 11km to Athy. From Athy, the surface is grass which might be fun but we got tired of it after 6km and moved to the adjacent road to Carlow - not too busy. After food in Carlow, we returned to Athy on a really nice back road, R429, via Knockbeg, - lovely, quiet, almost carless route.
