“Gorgeous private lakehouse, far enough away from the city, but close enough. Stunning and peaceful”
Trisha's place is lovely, between her dog and Trisha showing us around the place where we arrived, we felt right at home! Warm, cosy and with all the required utensils for a good meal and kitchen. Will ABSOLUTELY be looking to return in the summer to enjoy the views again!

“The perfect stay away!”
Amazing place to stay, Trisha was so attentive and helpful. Amazing to wake up and look out the window and see the amazing scenery right outside. Wonderful place to stay. The children had the best time feeding the ducks right at the water and the friendly dogs that'd visit. Would definitely recommend.

“Cosy lake cabin”
We had a wonderful family stay at this cosy lake cabin. Trisha welcomed us warmly and ensured everything was perfect throughout our visit. The location and stunning views make it an ideal place to relax and reconnect with nature. The cabin was spotless, with beautifully decorated interiors, and the accessible bathroom and toilet were a great bonus. We’d definitely love to return!

“Tranquility by the Lake!”
A fabulous cabin on the lake! So peaceful and serene. It was heaven to sit on the dock, watch the boats, swans and ducks with the sound of the lake lapping beside you. Trisha is warm, friendly and welcoming and Cora the dog visited daily😊

“Stunning!”
Port Heron is incredible place, comfy & cozy cabin lodge, with amazing surroundings, very peaceful & quiet. You can really stop, relax & charge your batteries! You can also meet adorable furry friends, and fantastic people who are absolutely helpful & kind whenever & whatever you need. Thank you so much <3

The location was really nice with a view over the lake and decking where you could sit out and relax in the evening. The property was clean and comfortable and the host was a lovely friendly lady. Could not have wished for a better place to stay and would happily stay there again.

“Tranquil, friendly, clean and relaxing.”
The location was wonderful - on the edge of the lake, really peaceful with lovely views. Local pub a short walk away with great Guinness and friendly locals - they do pizzas but we didn't partake. The location was ideal for us as we were branching out in different directions - the well connected N6 was really close which made travelling around a breeze. Sitting on the jetty watching the lake and wildlife was a lovely break after a days driving. Athlone itself was nice enough to visit, some shopping for the girls, a walk about for me finished off with a visit to Sean's Bar, the oldest pub in Ireland...possibly the world (on that site since 900AD!). Athlone was a few miles away so a drive. Our host was lovely, we didn't need much so were left to our own devices but had some lovely chats when we bumped into each other. Secure parking for one car (although the place is so quiet security wasn't a concern). Cooking facilities were good, supermarket a couple of miles away. All in all we had a lovely time and would happily stay there again.
