Fabulous location and great decor. Probably the most stylish hotel we’ve stayed at yet in India - a great mix of timber, tiles, artwork, fabrics and comfy furnishings in the rooms. The pool area and views are absolutely fabulous. Comfy bed and great lighting throughout the resort and rooms.

Our three-night stay at the Rainforest Resort in Athirappilly was nothing short of magical. Waking up each morning to the thunderous beauty of the waterfall felt surreal, and the comfort of our room made it easy to sink into the rhythm of the place. But what truly set this experience apart was the people who cared for us. Snehal deserves the highest praise. His warmth and dedication transformed our stay into something unforgettable. He not only arranged a personal bike ride to another waterfall, but seemed to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. His constant attention and genuine kindness made us feel less like guests and more like family. The chef’s food was another highlight—every meal was a celebration of authentic Indian flavors, varied and beautifully prepared. During our month in India, this was some of the finest food we tasted. He would come to our table, eager to know if there was anything more he could do, though the answer was always no—everything was already perfect. I must also mention the coffee, prepared by a gentleman whose name I regret forgetting. It was rich, aromatic, and easily among the best cups I’ve ever had. Meanwhile, my partner indulged in a three-day spa treatment guided by the on-site doctor. She emerged from it feeling renewed, as if the stress of travel had melted away. This was not just a stay—it was an experience woven with care, flavor, and unforgettable hospitality. Athirappilly Rainforest Resort gave us memories we will carry forever, and we recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone seeking both comfort and magic in equal measure.

We spent five unforgettable days at Rainforest in Athirapally in February 2025, and from the moment we arrived, we knew it was a special place. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the view of the waterfalls is simply breathtaking. The rooms are spacious and airy, with thoughtful touches like handmade soap. We also really appreciated the hotel’s commitment to sustainability—no plastic bags or cutlery, and dim lighting at night to avoid disturbing wildlife. The swimming pool was another highlight. It’s kept crystal clear and cleaned every morning, and swimming with the waterfalls in the background is an experience in itself. Being surrounded by forest, we spotted sambar deer, leaf birds, wild boars, and giant squirrels—it felt like being in the heart of nature. But what truly made our stay special was the service team, especially Zakhir and Suresh, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care made all the difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Rainforest felt like home away from home, and we can’t wait to come back.

Sitting out and watching that waterfall is almost priceless (although they did manage to price it!) staff are very kind and welcoming.

A very special place. Quite unique. Fantastic views. Charming, helpful staff. Good food. Great breakfasts. Gorgeous rooms, very clean and well appointed all overlooking the waterfall. Good walks all around. Lovely Spa, reasonably priced, they will give you a discount if you ask. We took a short walk down to the Tree House (they will give you a key if it is not booked). We had sundowners there, delightful! The hotel is alcohol free so Bring your own drinks. It is also plastic free - highly commendable! Highly recommend even if it is rather expensive………. But there’s nothing like it.

What a very special place this is, we were enchanted. Had a fabulous spa treatment, watching the monkeys with their babies while having a head massage. Truly the most relaxing place I’ve stayed in. I had room 6, a standard room which was perfect, a dressing room to hide my suitcase and stuff! We had sundowners in the tree house. And the waterfall was in full flow. Lovely food, lovely staff. Yes, it’s expensive, but so worth it.
