On the Rocks is a very smart and well kept little place tucked away at the end of an unmade road in glorious natural surroundings. It lies a gentle 1km (slightly uphill) walk along the main drag to the waterfall - an epic day out which is well worth the trip to Athirappilly. If you like jogging, the road through the resort is excellent quality, the traffic’s not too crazy, the dogs are well behaved, and the scenery is wonderful! Dipu is an excellent and gracious host and very kindly upgraded me on a quiet Sunday night to a fantastic premium room with panoramic views of the forest! The inclusive full Keralan breakfast at The Rainland (an associated hotel just across the main road) was delicious. If you are a foreigner like me, make sure you bring cash to pay - but if you forget, Dipu will take you to a fully functioning ATM very near the waterfall entrance. It’s a little bit remote here (which is part of the allure of course) so if you need taxis et cetera give yourself plenty of time. All in all, a great stay - thank you Dipu - fond memories indeed :)

“Family trip to Athirapilli Falls”

Super helpful staff, nice settings, river for a quick dip next to the place, amenities such as a swing and outdoor tables and chairs. We had some trouble with the car as we were leaving and the staff went out of their way to help us. I also had to head to the town area above at night and the staff kindly took me up by scooter. Breakfast was at the nearby hotel up the road and it was good.

The place is simply outstanding! So cozy, beautiful, modern, clean and comfortable. The location is wonderful, surrounded by the nature and backwaters with beautiful birds singing yet not far from the main road and waterfalls. You will enjoy staying here for 100% sure. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We arrived before the check-in time and our room wasn't ready yet so he gave us a different and better one without extra payment. We are so grateful for this. The host has also advised us on places to visit and direction on our way to Allepey. The breakfast was big and delicious, we hardly believed it can be for free. You may also order lunch and dinner, they will either bring it to the hotel area or you may walk to the nearby 2nd hotel of the same owner. If you are a foreign traveller pls note that there is no ATM or money exchange in Athirappily, so you better have enough rupees to stay there. Credit cards are not accepted as well.

Location, by the side of flowing stream in a semi forest area, was excellent. A small establishment, more like a home stay than a resort. Understaffed, mostly untrained local people. Good for overnight stay in the midst of nature. ,

This was the best stay in athirapally just 1 km from the falls and the best thing is there is lake just down the resort where you can enjoy your life to the fullest

The ambience is superb. The stream is flowing exactly in front of the resort. Room service and food are good. In short, a wonderful experience.

The breakfast was brought from their other property which is Rainland and was OK. The staff was very courteous. The location near the stream was great as we enjoyed it during the morning stroll.
