Offering an open-air bath and sea view, Taiseikan is set in Atami, 2.3 km from Nagahama Beach and 25 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. Ideally located in the Ajiro Onsen district, this ryokan offers a shared lounge, as well as a hot spring bath and a public bath. “Great onsen ryokan stay”
The whole experience of japanese style room with the sea view was great. It’s some effort to arrave there and move around with public transport. Next time we would hire a car.

The dinner that we had was absolutely amazing. Some of the best fish we've had in Japan (we live here) and excellent presentation. One abalone dish alone was worth the entire stay. The baths are lovely too.

Top notch. Very comfortable and tranquill. Private baths were almost always available and easy to see if they were in use or not. Wish I booked more than 2 nights.

“Friendliness in very Japanese village”
Very friendly staff, well equipped hotel including private onsen. It’s in a small village reachable by bus from Atami. You can walk along the coast line to some more restaurants

“A wonderful short stay in a peaceful ryokan”
The hotel is very close to the train station. The rooms are spacious and beautiful in a traditional japanese way. The private onsen with a view was exquisite with all its amenities.

Food, staff, and location. The hotel is not far from the JR station, and it is convenient for people not driving. Staff is nice and attentive to detail. The food, especially the grilled fish, is delicious. This boutique hotel is valued for money given that two private onsen rooms are offered for all guests. I highly recommend this place for people who look for a quiet and relaxing onsen trip.

Excellent location, easy to get to from the station. It’s a beautiful ryokan. Onsen with views of the ocean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was quiet even though my room was facing the main road. Both breakfast and dinner was excellent. They had a great selection of nihonshu. The staff were well versed in their knowledge of nihonshu and recommended a few to try with my dinner.

“Wonderful old world Japanese ryokan”
We spent 4 nights at the ryokan. At first we were worried that the booking would be too long. However we loved the trip back in time to a sleepy onsen town The banquet for one dinner and one breakfast was outstanding. We made the most of the Atami area and having lived in Japan it made everything easier

“Awesome ryokan at the seaside”
Except the public bath, the Ryokan has another two bath rooms can be used without booking or extra fee, you can go in as long as it's available, and it functions as the private bath. Since Ajiro is not a hot destination compared with Atami or Ito, the private bath is often available. However, Tokyo people like to spent weekend in izu so it's expected to be a bit busy in the weekend. The rooms are very clean and traditional as well. I think it's hard to find another ryokan with same level of comfort with a close price.

The fact that you could go to the onsen any time, even in the middle of the night was great. The same goes for the private onsen, which does not require any sort of reservation. Just walk in whenever it is empty.

“Gorgeous ryokan”
The facility was gorgeous, lobby, rooms and onsen were simple yet beautiful, decorated with taste. When you arrive you get to choose your yukata yourself. We loved it, especially the view on the ocean from the room. When you wait for a private onsen room, you can have a footbath, also with a great view.
