Overview
Hotel New Akao is a 10-minute ride from JR Atami Train Station, and a free shuttle is offered. “Stunning views and great value in Atami”
A lovely hotel with exceptional views of the ocean from the deluxe room in the Horizon building. Well worth it. The half board was great value as a buffet of a huge variety of Japanese delicacies as well as some Western food.

“Fantastic seaview Impressive Buffet Spread”
The room with fantastic seaview is very cosy and comfortable! We booked a Japanese room and requested to change to a Western room as we are unable to get up from the floor due to our backaches. But as they are fully booked, we are so thankful that they suggested raising the bed with futons instead!

“Great resort by the ocean with something for everyone”
Lovely location with great food. Love this hotel! It’s my 6th stay with my husband or family. The choice of plans ( buffet, French or Japanese kaiseki) has something for everyone …. Young families, friends group or special occasion. Lots of onsen baths on different floors including one right by the ocean. There is a private onsen to reserve if you like privacy or want to do a family bathing.

This place was awesome. We had a beautiful view from our very large and comfortable room. The dinning in the main restaurant was great and such a cool space. Then there is the arcade and bar on the bottom floor aswell. 10 out of 10

Great location to enjoy a local, more remote area in Japan. Great offer of activities to just spent time at the hotel. Shuttle to city and train station is really helpful. Traditional rooms with beautiful view, great onsens, amazing dining experience for dinner and breakfast. Food offer is wide and tasty.

This is the best hotel ever! There's a hot pool (osen) infinity pool over looking the sea, there is an ENORMOUS buffet for main and pudding AND They provide pyjamas that you get to wear to dinner!!!!!

“This is a great resort for families, friends and couples to relax and enjoy nature all around.”
Located right on the cliff overlooking the ocean, the views are spectacular! It’s third time to stay here and the Horizon wing is bright, airy and nicely furnished. The ryokan style dinner was truly amazing… so delicious, full of the freshest seasonal fare ( seafood etc) and the restaurant staff were excellent. There is a choice of several onsen baths and also a courtesy bus to and from Atami Station and the Akao Forest gardens. The rose gardens were amazing, truly beautiful and well tended by dedicated staff. There are several activities for water sports, kayaking, sup paddle boarding etc as well as yoga on the weekends. It was nice to see the hotel provide dog friendly rooms and these seemed very popular with people wanting to stay with their pets.
