I had a very pleasant stay at Roma Guest House in Aswan. The room had two single beds that were wide, comfortable, and very clean. The bathroom is small but functional and was clean, with shampoo and toilet paper provided. The air conditioning worked very well, and there was also a ceiling fan. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Breakfast is simple (omelet, cheese, and coffee or tea), but it’s a good start to the day. One of the best features is the large terrace with a beautiful view of the Nile River. The location on the island is nice and quiet, and the boat fare is only 15 EGP, which is very affordable. The owner is extremely kind and honest. He helped arrange a shared tour to Abu Simbel Temple at a good price, as well as another trip to Luxor including visits to Kom Ombo Temple and Edfu Temple. He also gave very helpful advice about what to do in Aswan. Overall, the price is very cheap compared to the quality of the room and service. I highly recommend this place.

Most important that house is clean and on good location. I see that some people coplaining about noise,it is not true,it is on calm island. Problem is that Aswan at the moment offering very poor quality in city center that i already tried,so Roma house and Elephantine island was like saving from the hell of noice,dirt and trash that are on the East side of the Nile.

“Option worth considering in Aswan”

Staff were friendly and helpful when I saw them. The room was well equipped, tidy and clean. This included a fridge and heavy blanket (which was needed before sunrise). Bed and wifi were fine. Shower was hot enough. There was a kettle and tea and coffee to share on the terrace. The terrace was pleasant with a clear view of the Nile and Aswan's East Bank. The Nubian breakfast was good and provided punctually. Roma House is less than 10 minutes walk from the ferry to the East Bank. I'd probably stay again if I was on a budget. The ferry from the East Bank leaves just south of the KFC, down the rainbow stairs. There are reasonable eateries on the island. It's good to watch the feluccas from Feryal Garden (worth the 50 EGP) and there is a Carrefour supermarket a little further up the road from there if needed.

Roma house is amazing choice if you don't mind taking ferry to the island and back. Anyhow there is amazing location in the middle of Nile. Room is super clean and beds are comfortable. There is lovely living room also.

“Tiring and take time for transportation.”

The wifi is very very strong The tour to Abu Simbel provided by this hostel is ok with the price ($25/person with pickup). It starts from 4 am in the morning and come back at 1pm. The hostel is quite near King Jamaica restaurant which provides nice meals. The hotel room is quite small but has 2 single beds so it's Ok for us.

“Affordable Peace and Quiet”

When in Aswan, I always stay at Roma House!! OK, I’ve only stayed there twice, but I would go back in a heartbeat. “Why?”, you ask. Because the room is comfortable, the shower is hot, the view is to die for, the location is amazing and the price is the best. There is an outdoor kitchen space with 2 electric hot plates as well as a barbecue if you prefer. I’ve used both very effectively. The price also makes this a very attractive place to stay. There are 3 rooms overlooking the roof terrace and there is also a small self-contained apartment with 2 single beds, a few doors up the street. (When I stayed the first time with my wife, we extended our stay by a few more days and moved to this small apartment. ) Mariam is a perfect host. She will arrange tours for you at reasonable rates, or she will leave you to organise your own excursions without any fuss. She provides a good breakfast if you wish. The location on Elephant island is amazing. Can you believe that there is a place in Egypt where there are no cars, no motorbikes, no traffic noise and car horns? This is Elephantine where there are mango orchards and vegetable gardens and basically no machinery. Three minutes on the ferry will get you to and from the island for 10EGP (US$0.20) each way. On this eastern side of the island, there are a couple of good places to eat, have a beer or glass of wine and watch night fall over the Nile.

Much better than we expected, for the price! The setting is lovely, super clean rooms with a balcony and the terrace is great to hang out in in the evening. The host is very kind. Would 100% stay again. Love the decoration and charm.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Roma House was a fantastic base for our visit to Aswan. Everything was clean and comfortable, much nicer than the pictures show. The family looked after us beautifully, organising a private car at a good price to Abu Simbel and the airport and making a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!

“Unforgottable”

The accomontation was clean, comfortable with aircondation, and the kitchen has a big fridge.The lady owner was very helpful, she made us breakfast and dinner and arrange for us a beautiful private boat tour on the Níle.We were at Agha Khan Mauzoleum, Monastry of St.Simeon ( by camel) and Botanic Garden in Kithener's island and we wisited a Nubián village.

“A very homely 2 weeks at Roma House”

Mariam provides lovely, homely, personal accommodation. She has 3 rooms above her family home with an open rooftop overlooking the Nile. She will provide a good breakfast on request, served in the shade of the pergola. There is also a good barbecue with charcoal which which we used, although you may need to buy the charcoal. Mariam will organise trips to local sites if you wish her to do this for you. It’s very convenient for people without much time. Elephantine island is delightful and there are interesting walks and sites to see there if you have time.

Very cozy place and clean room! Hostess is super friendly and helpfull, she cooked a very delicious dinner for us :)) Highly recommend!
