“A safe place”

I had a wonderful time at Kayan Guest House, which provided everything I needed for a budget-friendly stay. Staying on Elephantine Island was pleasant, and I liked coming back to the quiet village after a day outdoors. The best part was the breakfast included, which gave me plenty of energy for the day ahead. Don't forget to tip the lady who prepares the breakfast. Unfortunately, I fell victim to a scam on the island, where I paid 2000 EGP for a trip to Abu Simbel, unaware that the guesthouse offered the same tour for half the price. Scams and people taking advantage of you occur in Aswan, just like in Luxor. However, I managed to visit all the museums and sites I had planned. This hostel felt like a safe haven for me.

Location and wifi

Very clean , the quickest wifi i had in all Egypt , Mohammad arranged my trip to Abu Simbel for a good price and also prepared breakfast to have in my journey , thank you brother , I totally recommend this place .

Great place to stay on Elephantine Island, very close to the pier, restaurants and shops. Big room and comfortable beds. Fernanda was so nice and helpful, cooked amazing breakfast every morning, always asking what I wanted to have and preparing takeaway breakfast when I travelled to Abu Simbel early in the morning. She also organised barbecue for us and showed me around the city. Mohammed was also very kind, he helped me to organise trips and invited us to his boat. I ended up staying much longer than I initially intended because it felt like home.

Humble house in quiet and native nubian environment, absolutely clean with amazing pillows! Everything simple but fully working, duche, shower, bed… both Mohammad and Fernanda are simply amazing hosts! Fernanda prepared sandwiches for me, arranged tours, made sure all was perfect to me with the best prices possible! We even had an amazing farewell BBQ!

“Amazing Stay on the Elephentine Island”

The staff was humble and ready for help. They even allowed me to come late at night to the place. I was there for 3 days and everyday the breakfast was different and tasty.

We stayed here for three nights. The guest house is in the elephantine island, so you have to take the public ferry boat to cross (wich is just 10 pounds for person) and is a 2 min walk from the guest house. The island is very nice and the boat cross to, so staying there was a plus. The room is simple but clean and confortable and the breakfast was taken in the Bob Marley restaurant.

TO MOHAMED AND EVERYONE WHO IS READING IT. My name is Fernanda and I came to stay in Kayan two nonths ago. I have been helping. That is what I do in life. I travel and places that need a little help I help. The three last reviews, really bad reviews was under my care. And I am gobsmacked and ashamed. I am a 10 woman. lol I have been working and volunteering in hospitality for 30 years and is the first time ( 3 times in a roll ) that I am not job has been not praised. What is worse I have no idea why. The three guests who gave bad review seemed very happy. Every day, the firs thing I ask a guest is Did you sleep well? Any problem with mattress, shower, internet, noise. All absolutely said no. Because if there is, we will immediately try to sort it out. com I ask all travellers, when and if you leave a low score, wherever you are, please give the reasons because I am really gobsmacked!!! I will go item by item... WIFI sore 8.3 - It is just the best wif fi I ever had in Egypt and everywhere else. I give classes online, I edit movies a lot, I have mobile and lap top which I use all the time. I seriously never had problem with WI FI connection CONFORT score 8.7 There isnt in Aswan or for that matter in the world, a ensuite room for the price of Kayan Guesthouse. It is a hotel, that offers you kitchen. We are a growing hotel, for now we still dont have a restaurant or view. But next door there is Bob Marely with terrace where the guests can enjoy as much as if they were here. Th mattres is lovely! Three pillows. In this price range or in any range in Egypt one will find soft feather pillows. But they are very clean and good. And three. I love pillows. LOCALIZATION - I made a video of how long it takes from the port in the hearth of Aswan, very easy to find, to the port in the island in the ferry boat. Less than 4 minutes.
