That's a one in a lifetime experience. I wouldn't exchange that for any luxury soulless cruise. It's real immersive tourism and it benefits the Egyptian without destroying the environment. What a pleasure not hearing a motor or smelling fuel. A real travel out of time. But the most important factor was the crew, thank you to Youssef "Captain Jack", Abdelrazik the experience sailor and Omar. We were traveling with 3 children (7, 10 and 13 years old) and they make everyone of us feel like family. They prepared us amazing healthy food, they offered us quality sailing which is a big part of the trip. They showed us all the good spots, made campfire, protect us from the mosquitos and were just good human beings with a great sens of humor and a good heart. Thank you for everything i highly recommend.

“An unforgettable experience!”
Walid was a brilliant, calm and unflappable skipper while Ahmed was a great chef. We spent three days with them and loved every minute, we wish we could have stayed for longer.

“A superb way to see the Nile intimately, to de-stress and shed the hectic pace of modern life!”
Feluccas are the best way to travel on the Nile. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and genuinely fun in a way the big cruise ships can never match. We sailed with Captain Tarek and Chef Suliman, and they were a huge part of what made this experience unforgettable. Suliman somehow cooked incredible amounts of food in his tiny outdoor kitchen; rich, deeply flavored Egyptian dishes. At sundown, he even prepared a finely chopped fruit cocktail. On top of that, he also helped Captain Tarek with sailing and mooring. Since these elegant boats have no motors, everything depends on skill and experience, and it was lovely to see Tarek guiding and training Suliman so he can one day sail the Nile himself. We flew into Aswan late, after spending our first full day at Giza visiting the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. We stayed on Elephantine Island at Meshra Katto, a Nubian hotel recommended by Walid (the owner of Jamaica Felucca) since his place was fully booked. Meshra Katto was a great alternative. Beautiful setting, very quiet, a perfect breakfast on the balcony, and a short boat ride to where our felucca was waiting. Sailing out of the harbor alongside the enormous cruise ships was eye-opening. Sleeping at night was a little challenging. We each had mosquito-net tents (not many mosquitoes). We were warm and cosy. Perfectly fine for those who don’t mind sleeping outdoors. There was plenty of room on the shaded, comfortable main deck. If you want to sunbathe on the upper deck, it may be one of the best places in the world to watch life along the Nile…just remember to keep your head down, this is a sailing boat, and you’re constantly crossing back and forth across the river. What really makes this journey special is how close you get to both banks of the Nile. We saw buffalo, countless birds (kingfishers constantly diving), and the humble donkey. It’s slow, intimate travel at its finest. Day two began peacefully with a massive breakfast and a morning sail, but then we had to mo

“Like a dream! The only way to travel peacefully on the Nile, at the paharoh’s real pace”
Amazing experience, like a dream! It is not my first feluka trip, and I highly recommend Jamaica Feluka. Captain Tarek and cook Souleymane have been wonderful guides, always caring and kind. Tarek knows everything around the Nile and knows his ways with a lot of experience, Souleymane enchanted us with his meals. We were a group of 4 friends and we’ll remember this trip for the rest of our lives.

“Wonderful stay would reccommend”
Wonderful and engaged crew, good english so easy to communicate, great food, wonderful experience. We stayed two nights as we had younger kids. Kids loved it. Would have stayed another night if we had gone without kids.

“A wonderful relaxing family highlight to our holiday”
Everything as promised. We were met as expected at the Aswan KFC by JJ Jamaica himself. He forgave us being 20mins late. He introduced us to our boat Nile Bright and our captains Tariq and Suliman. It was delightful and cool under the canopy sailing in the breeze. Food was excellent from the outset and my kids who can be a little fussy were all very happy with the food. There was plenty of food and I need not have worried about bottled water supplies of which there was ample. Tariq and Suliman were perfect hosts, ensuring we were happy and Tariq spoke sufficiently good English so we understood everything. They kept the boat spotlessly clean throughout our time. We spent 2 days and 2 nights aboard and it was a great time together as a family. We had the boat to ourselves which was truly awesome and it was lovely to be able to relax together away from our individual busy schedules. It also gave the kids a chance to get over temple fatigue! If you want a relaxing gentle holiday experience this will be for you and ask for Tariq and Suliman to be your captains!

Really relaxing. Having the kayaks was a nice extra. We also didn't know we would have the boat to ourselves and this exclusivity made for a really special experience
