“Bad in all the wrong ways”

I was the only person in the hotel, which is ok but the problem is that I order breakfast and no one was around. Couldn’t even get water as I was literally left by myself in the guesthouse. I contacted the managers many times and never responded. The room was super dirty. I had to clean and even wash my own sheets (that’s how dirty it was) I only like the view of the Nile from the room

“Perfect spot to base yourself in Aswan with an amazing host”

What a relaxing place to stay. Looking out over the Nile River it is calming. The manager is so helpful - sorting out tours and transfer for me. He was always transparent and made sure that the drivers, tour guides etc were where they needed to be. Communication was the best of egypt so far! These trips also included motorboat transfers to the mainland free of charge. The WiFi worked really well and it was so glorious that the single room was the one with a balcony.

The authentic interaction, genuine friendliness, and generosity of everybody at Hooly Nubian. The Nile-side location. Amir's gorgeous breakfasts. The constant, effortless, welcoming atmosphere. I booked 4 nights, stayed for 6, and could happily have stayed longer.

They helped us arrange all our activities (transfer from the airport, faluca ride, abu simbel, and transfer to luxor), and always with a smile. The location is super peaceful.

the sweetest staff that kept bringing me tea and more cause I had a cold back then. Also the view from the room, directly on the nile was just stunning! Elephantine island is a great spot to stay for exploring, no cars and very original way of living. With all the pro and cons which are part of that :)

Lovely location with beautiful views of the Nile- Kayaking right out the front and a felucca ride with Mohamed were highlights. We could easily walk to the Nubian village and archaeological site. Can only get there from Aswan via boat, but the boat was always waiting at the times we organised, or not far away when we went exploring Aswan and called one of the guys. Make sure you make time to go over the other side of the river to have dinner at Rashad’s and take a camel ride up the sand dunes for sunset- Amazing.

I have never stayed at a more beautiful place in the world. All the staff were extremely helpful, polite, and a lot of fun. It will be the only place I stay in Egypt from now on.

The location is amazing, the owner Ahmed is very friendly, helpful and kind; Mohamed prepared everything for me, drove me with the boat when I needed to take the bus; everything was very good, room super good with an amazing view from the Nilo…. Really 10/10!!!

Absolutely amazing place. The views and the tranquility is like nothing else in Egypt. Situated on an island on the Nile it's amazing how quiet and peaceful it is. The room was excellent and very clean the hosts were amazing really making me feel welcome and helping me with whatever I needed.

Ahmed was a very wonderful host. He helped me make a wonderful tour program. The place is directly on the Nile in a distinguished location.

It's a nice place but very basic. The staff was very helpful to organise local transports/tours especially Abu Simbel which was great. It's on the island so need boat transfer to get to mainland. It was adequate for the few nights I stayed.

The guesthouse hooly nubian is the perfect place and perfect location and ahmed is very friendly and hospitality and he is available every time if you want place to injoy and good service hooly your choice

“A magical and unique experience on the Nile river”

Absolutely everything. The stay was properly magical. The room is big and clean with private bathroom. The terrasse is very charming and on the Nile river, with in the desert view on the other side and a few minutes by boat to the botanic garden. Ahmed is the kindest host I’ve had. He helped me a lot with my visits in Aswan but also with the organisation of my trips to Luxor and Abu Simbel. He is very well connected with the Aswan community and I could organize my visits directly with him which made it so easy to enjoy the time in Aswan. A big plus, at the hostel, there are canoe available from the terrasse to enjoy solo trips in the Nile. Very cool.

“Basic accommodation but not a basic-level price.”

This place is in an amazing location right on the west bank of Elephantine Island with a fantastic view over the Nile. The owner is friendly and helpful. With a little TLC, this could be a very nice place to stay.

I arrived here at midnight, and the staff warmly assisted me in catching a boat to the hotel, as it is located on a small island opposite the city. This place is peaceful and picturesque. Unfortunately, I came alone, which felt a bit lonely—having a travel companion would have made it truly wonderful.😁
