We had a wonderful stay in Aswan. The rooms are clean and in a great location, right next to the boats that take you across the Nile. I recommend staying on Elephantine Island rather than on the mainland - the atmosphere is much more authentic and peaceful. Ahmed, the owner, was welcoming, kind, and caring throughout our stay. The same goes for Abdullah, who was always very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Aswan!

“A little gem with the best view from the roof top terrace”

Our stay in Aswan was made truly special by our host. From the moment we booked, the communication was clear. We received detailed directions on how to take the ferry from the North Ferry point to the island, which made our arrival easy.The location is less than a one-minute walk from the ferry landing. We landed late in the evening and the owner organised a seamless transfer from the airport for us. Our room was clean and very comfortable, and we especially loved the tea and coffee facilities on our floor. One of the highlights of our trip was the private sunset felucca ride the owner helped us book for a very fair price. On our last evening, we were invited to the rooftop terrace for cake and refreshments. It was a great opportunity to chat and learn more about the local culture and the unique history of the area.The owner could not have done more to make our stay memorable. If you want a warm and authentic managed experience on Elephantine Island, I cannot recommend this guest house enough!

The overall ambiance offered a rare sense of serenity. Cleanliness was impeccable throughout the property. I especially loved the terrace and the river side balcony. The terrace added a special charm, providing a perfect spot to unwind. Given the opportunity, I would gladly return to Egypt and spend a few more days at Crystala again. The location on Elephantine Island was perfect, and the island atmosphere was truly special. I could easily have stayed much longer! It’s definitely a hidden gem in Egypt. Ahmed was fantastic, he even showed me a great swimming spot on the Nile near the accommodation. My expectations were completely exceeded.

The property was very clean and well presented. The hosts were very kind and accommodating so overall I was very happy with the stay.

The accommodation is on a small island, accessible only by boat. The island is very quiet, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. The islanders are incredibly friendly, and the rooftop restaurant offers stunning views of the tranquil Nile River.

Great place to stay only a few minutes away from the public ferry across to Elephantine Island. Ahmed and Yousra who run Crystala are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The property is spotlessly clean in a great location.

The property was clean and amazing value for money - the best thing about it was the hosts - they were so kind and friendly, invited us for tea and cake on the roof with them so we could get to know each other and let us ask questions about Nubian culture. Would recommend to anyone - plus worth spending time on Elephantine in general as completely different to main Aswan with awesome vibes and energy.

Absolutely loved the hospitality. The host and his wife went an extra mile to make me feel at home. They offered me the most delicious dinner which I didn’t even pay for. Organised the tours for me at the most reasonable prices. Helped me with taxi bookings. Abdullah the boy who works there is just the sweetest and extremely polite and helpful. I’m travelling solo so meeting such lovely people really helps a lot and makes the whole experience 10 times better. The property is beautifully located in the Elephantine island, they have a beautiful rooftop terrace from where u can watch the sunrise. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend this place to everyone. 100% value for money.

This is not a hotel, but offers all the comforts you'd expect from a good hotel. The biggest bonus besides the great price is the exposure to Nubian hospitality and culture. You'd not get the same from some big hotel chain. The owner/manager Ahmed and his wife were wonderful to talk too, and went over and above providing small gifts along with Nubian tea and pastries to thank us for our stay. Ahmed also assisted with all transportation requirements for all our touring at better rates than found elsewhere. I highly recommend a stay at the Crystala Guest House in Aswan to round out your amazing travel experience.

Everything is nice! Great view and clean room!

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The guesthouse is located on an island in Aswan, right on the Nile, which makes the place very special. Before our arrival, the hosts sent very clear and detailed instructions on how to find the pier, how to get to the island, and how much the boat costs. The crossing costs 15 Egyptian pounds, exactly as they said. We informed them about our arrival time, and they met us on the shore, helped carry our suitcases, and showed us to the room. The room itself was excellent: very clean, modern, comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. There were enough power outlets, which is always a plus. The guesthouse is super new — it opened only about two weeks before our stay. There is a beautiful shared terrace available for all guests, not only for one room. The view from the terrace is amazing: the Nile, the city, and a very peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast is available for an extra fee, but we didn’t try it. The pier is only 2–3 minutes’ walk away. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and really enjoyed this place. We highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Aswan.
