Awi and his wife were most gracious. Awi met me personally at the ferry with his own boat. Awi was very informative and helped me decide which tours i would like take. The room was big and comfortable with all amenities provided.

Right on river bank at Elephantine island, with its own dock and 2 minutes walk from public ferry dock. Big apartment with brilliant river view includes 2 full bedrooms, kitchen, fridge, sitting area. Genuine village atmosphere (unlike the false tourist Nubian villages the boat tours take you to). No tourist market/people harrassing you to buy things. Despite being a village, the guest house has all facilities of 3 star hotel with good hot water, electricity, television, air conditioning etc. Good restaurants on island within short walk. Owner helps arrange taxi etc at very reasonable prices. Please be aware this is a village and surroundings will have animals and animals dung smell but this doesn't come into the guest house.

“Cute homestay at elephantine island”

We loved our stay at Awis guesthouse. The location right at the river on elephantine island is absolutely perfect. We felt right like holidays. The room was big and the beds comfortable. And we had the best view out of the window. Awi was so kind to us. He picked us up for free with his boat and brought us back. He helped us with tours and everything we needed. We can highly recommend this place.

“A lovely relaxing stay with friendly and helpful hosts.”

The owners were lovely, the location was right on the water, relaxing and calm. We arrived at 2am after flight delays and the owner picked us up in his boat and brought us across to the island and then walked with us to show us the local store before arranging a late breakfast for us the next day so we could sleep in. We stayed for two nights and on our final day, just before checkout our cruise cancelled leaving us stranded. He made some calls and arranged a driver and car to take us to Kom Ombo and Edfu at a very reasonable price. I would have happily stayed extra nights if we had the time. Very relaxing and peaceful ☺️

Beatiful location, spacious, new and clean room with a great view. Good breakfast. Awi was kind and supportive, picking and dropping us to Aswan upon arrival and departure.

I had a wonderful stay at Awi Guest House, a peaceful retreat on Elephantine Island in Aswan. The host is incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with local tips, transport, and tours, which made the whole experience smooth and welcoming. Overall, Awi offers excellent value, genuine warmth, and a relaxing setting that makes you feel right at home.

The property is right on the Nile we had a great breakfast on the terrace every morning. The room was large and clean with an amazing view of the Nile and mainland Aswan.Awi and Fatima were laid back and helpful.All in all a lovely relaxing place to stay

“Awi Guest House”

Awi Guest house is in a lovely location in the Nubian village on Elephantine island. The room and terrace looked out over a lovely view of the Nile. Awi looked after us superbly and arranged for his son to take us by boat to a very colourful vibrant Nubian village, which was great fun. He also arranged us a felucca ride at sunset which we really enjoyed. On our final day he made us a very early breakfast and took us over the river in his boat ( to save us getting the ferry). I thoroughly recommend Awi Guest house.

Very nice accommodation located directly above the waters of the Nile, with a beautiful terrace, just a short walk from a supermarket, a public ferry pier, and restaurants. The owner is very friendly and always willing to help arrange anything you may need. He owns a motorboat as well as a larger boat with a roof. His services are a real experience, and the prices are very reasonable. This was my second stay in this house, and I believe it certainly won’t be the last. Highly recommended! Thank you for all the excellent service.

Super nice place to stay. Big apartments. With marvelous view, at Aswan city. Very clean ☀️ It is the most calm place, comparing to the other places in Egypt I have ever been. The whole island is green. Nubian people don’t try to sell you everything every second. Mr. Awi also made for us a really nice sunset tour at his private boat Feluca. Just 30$ for 1,5 hours. Personal boat. Amazing I can highly recommend you to do this too. I am writing the review, not only about the place to stay. But about the whole atmosphere of this place. We have also there the personal marina. So you don’t need to go anywhere. To take a boat just go downstairs from your apartment and you are on the river. 👍 also, you have a private restaurant. They will cook for you. Nice local meal. So it’s kind of all inclusive. For the normal price. Feel yourself like at home. 🤙 So we also did Abu Simbel. With Nubian people. Mr. Awi managed everything for us. No extra charges. Really nice to have the deal with a good man. Mr. Awi thank you one more time. It was a nice traveling with you. I wish you a good business. And a good people to come. 🙏

“Great, friendly place”

The friendly family went out of their way to make their customers happy. The house is large, clean and has a wonderful view of the Nile. Near the ferry to Aswan, just minutes away, but on the peaceful island of Elephantine. On the day of departure we had to leave too early for breakfast, but they made us breakfast for in the bus, so sweet!!

Location : excellent - in an island and 5 min by boat from main island Lots of places to eat nearby ( king Jamaica - recommended place to eat) Staff: exceptional ( family run) Picked up at odd times from main island and dropped us back everytime by boat Offered so many tour options They even do have felucca boat on their own. Took us with their boat to Nubian village and also did felucca ride for sunset . Ahmed and his mom and dad were really kind and also the captain(forgot his name). Beds: comfortable Since I come from village I felt like home. Do not expect hotel like location It’s a guest house and it’s amazing experience.

Awi and his wife are the most beautiful people.They cater for your every need and nothing is too much trouble.Breakfast is fabulous + set us up for the day. Apartment was spacious, shower hot with excellent water pressure. Internet fast + reliable. Being right on the nile the view is always stunning + only a few minutes walk from both ferries.

Awi himself was a great host, calming, chilled, nice... exactly the kind of person you need and want after Luxor. Such a nice dude. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and quite just off the main public ferry "terminal", very easy to access and with views of the Nile! Can't recommend it enough, great stay!
