Simple but beautiful guesthouse right on the banks of the river. The staff were very helpful and kind. The island is very simple and peaceful. Great relaxing getaway. Highly recommended.

Great explanation at our arrival to take the public boat to go on the Island. We enjoyed the homemade tasty breakfast on the rooftop. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Well equiped rooms. Location is peaceful, clean and perfect to see and understand Nubian lifestyle. I recommend 100%.

Beautiful views. Very nice people away from the hassle of the main Aswan side. Ferry is easy to catch from near KFC. Easy to find. Room was clean and had enough space and lovely balcony. Close to King Jamaica restaurant which is a must for the tagine.

“A sweet little guest house but be warned of over charging for trips etc”

Sweet little guest house well located near the ferry. Breakfast was very good and the view from our little terrace across the Nile was lovely. It is quite basic but clean and we always had plenty of hot water and there was very good aircon in our room. Elephant Island is a much better part of Aswan to stay on than the mainland. Quiet and interesting to walk around - lovely people. Staff were really lovely.

We had a very nice stay, the hotel is well located with easy access, the rooms are clean, the view on the Nile from the terrace is great. And a very good feeling with the staff and her manager, we discussed and laughed together, we enjoyed this moment!

Excellent location with view over the Nile. Airkela had booked a car for me from the airport and picked me up at the ferry to go to Elephantine Island. All arrangements were well communicated and went smoothly. The guesthouse was spotless clean throughout. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Close walking distance to restaurants (I really liked the Kana Kato). Above all, very friendly manager and staff.

“Live Like a Local – An Unforgettable Hotel Experience”

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. What makes this place truly special is its incredible atmosphere — you don’t just stay here, you actually live among the locals and experience the real Egypt. Everything is very well maintained, clean, and beautifully taken care of. The staff are genuinely warm, attentive, and always make sure you feel comfortable and looked after. You are truly in the middle of it all, immersed in the culture, not separated from it like in typical tourist hotels. That’s what makes this place so unique. We were even recommended a fantastic local restaurant, where we ended up dining alongside local residents — such an authentic and memorable experience. Getting there is very easy: it’s just a 5–10 minute ride from the main part of the city, either by private transfer or public transport, and you are dropped off right at the hotel. An amazing place overall — 100% worth visiting if you want to experience the real Egypt instead of staying in standard, generic hotels. Highly recommended!

Location was great. Easy to access via ferry. Staff were friendly, welcoming and sweet. Loved the balcony facilities, looking out over the Nile at night is magical.

Authentic Nubian hotel in a fantastic location on Elephantine Island with a beautiful view of the Nile. Very welcoming atmosphere and extremely kind and helpful staff. The Nubian breakfast is also excellent and delicious. A perfect place to experience Nubian hospitality in a unique setting.

Host was fantastic. Welcomed us with a drink, arranged for us boats to Nubian village and provided with a breakfast box. Rokms are spacious, confortable and clean. No problem with warm water. Not mentioned the view - it was spectacular. Staying on the island is a great alternative to busy Aswan.

Close to the boat drop off, easy to find. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again without hesitation. Special shout out to Mohammed for looking after us

“Totally recommend it, amazing vibes”

I really loved this hotel! The location is amazing with Nile view and the whole vibe makes it worth! The room is quite simple, but spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and kind making you feel like home. Breakfast was very tasty with a variety of options. Totally recommend it! Transportation is easy with public boat which is located 2 minutes from the hotel.

“Perfect stay”

We were so well taken care, our best memory of Egypt! Elephantine island is so peaceful and Airkela is 2mins away from the ferry. Perfect location. Food was delicious and water was always available. The room was clean and comfortable. The balcony has a great and peaceful view on the Nil ~

I liked the staff especially Mohamed (Mini) who was marvellous and the owner who charming and helpful. I loved this little hotel, it's tasteful and comfortable and has everything needed for an idyllic stay on Elephantine. Beautiful view from my room. Great breakfast cooked by Mohamed and assisted by Ahmed. So welcoming and kind.
