“The Only Place to Stay in Aswan.”

The apartment was roomy and well stocked. The location just metres from the ferry. The island itself is a genuine Nubian Village without the tourist bazaar. Adad was a fantastic host and owning his own river boat made tours to nearby islands convenient and cost effective. Make sure you have a meal cooked by Adad's wife. The fish was perfect. Do not hesitate in considering this the place to stay in Aswan. 😃🇦🇺

“Great location for ferry, quiet area, lovely family, top breakfast, highly recommended”

I tend to be a tad cynical with reviews that say "I felt like part of the family" but I can say in all honesty that this is how I felt staying here. Khalids boat trip was absolutely wonderful, a taste of the quieter side of the nile, beautiful, relaxing, lots of birds, drifting past reed-fringed islands, watching kingfishers. I'd recommend staying here for so many reasons. You won't go hungry, trust me. The delicious breakfast will set you up for the day (with enough falafel to make a packed lunch) The family are lovely, the accommodation is spacious, fully furnished and homely, and you have the whole second floor to yourself, front room, bathroom, bedroom, kitchen (kettle, fridge, pans, stove, kitchen stuff) and can come and go as you please - it feels inclusive yet private. We had wondered about staying on Elephantine island as we weren't sure about the ferries but they work really well, regular (every 10 to 15 minutes during the day until midnight, (every half an hour during the night) and cost 10 egyptian pounds p/p per crossing, and they're a fun mode of transport. Adad Nubian House is a minute or two walk from the ferry stop, so handy. The island has local restaurants that serve good food, and it has shops we used for drinks and snacks. It's peaceful whereas the mainland is touristy and busy. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation, we have good memories and will stay here again when we return to Aswan.

Very big apartment with 2 bedrooms and big living room. Each bedroom has its own balcony. Area to eat and relax with nice view on the Nile on the roof. Tasty and big egyptian breakfest. Nice and helpful host, can arrange felluca trip for a resonable price.

Location was good, close to the public ferry wharf. Great view of the Nile. Khalid & his family were very helpful. We only stayed for one night but Khalid served us a lovey breakfast & helped us to the ferry the next day.

Clean, very spacey apartment just in front of ferry to Aswan. Big breakfast and massive dinner if You ask owners wife to cook. We paid 150 EGP each and received 2 bug fishes per person, bucket of rice, bread, salad. You can eat cheaper in Aswan . It's your choice. Very nice and talkative owner

This Is the best place to stay in Elephantine Island ! Very nice family and welcoming guesthouse, listening to your expectations and doing their best for you to enjoy your stay. They have a felouque and a motor boat so you can arrange some boat trip. The appartement is big, clean and fresh with mosquito barreers in all the windows. The location just in front of a ferry stop is very convenient

It was basic but clean property,very good value for money. It was house and how ,s family Lived down stairs. All family was very nice .owner,Kyle’s was kind and very hospitable. He made our stay very comfortable

“Very homely B&B stay - welcoming hosts”

+ It is right next to the ferry terminal on the island. + The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The welcome drink was very good + Water pressure was good compared to our stay in Cairo. + Mr Adad has few felucca boats. He offered a reasonable hourly priced private tour in the evening when we returned from Abu Simbel temple. + Were provided a glass of milk for our daugher in the morning on request + Big flat with large living room, and bathroom (with bath tub and shower cubicle both) . Both bedrooms have balcony with partial views of the Nile river. We didn't go to the roof terrace, I think it might offer better views. + If you contact in advance, they were able to book competitively priced private car and guide with their local contact person . ( for $100 if I recall correctly for 3 passengers). I had a Viator discount offer, hence I booked the car trip using Viator instead of their contact. Mr. Adad helped me connect with his cousin who is a guide at Ambu Simbel temple. I think we paid 400 EGP + tip for his guide service, which I think was very good price compared to other quotes I got online. + There was a small grocery store (corner-store) at 2-3 min walking distance. Can't comments : Ddn't use kitchen or AC. We wish we had stayed longer to explore the island itself. It had a nice rural feel to it, which I wanted my daughter to explore given we live in a big developed European city. Minor points to consider : - The flat is on 1st floor, pl note if you have heavy luggage or access issues. Mr Adad helped us take the luggage upstairs, which is good. But he might not be home when other guests reach. - The furniture and other appliances are little dated (as seen in photos). It is not a recently furnished apartment, if that is what you are looking for. But it has a nice homely feel. - Very noisy neighbourhood at midnight during Ramadan (as is most of Egypt) - broken mirror pieces in drawer, watch out if you have kids

Perfect location close to Nile and ferry crossing. Kitchen with full equipment, huge bathroom. Nice decor of the apartment. Cleanliness. Excellent value for money. Very reliable, welcoming and friendly owner. He did everything he can to make our stay enjoyable, incl. tasty homemade dinner. Note 10 is too low !

“A great apartment and a wonderful Nubian family”

The owner Khaled and his family were very kind and welcoming. We were very grateful for their hospitality and will not forget it. The apartment was spacious and modern compared some of the other places we stayed. It’s very close to the ferry. They helped us with Abu Simbel trip and transfer to Red Sea and the arrangements were good. Khaled had 30 years of sailing felucca and we were very happy with our felucca ride with him too.
