Overview
La Tavola dei Cavalieri is located between woods and valleys in Monte Subasio Nature Park. It offers delicious local produce, cookery classes and tours of the wine cellar and brewery. Surrounded by unspoilt nature, La Tavola dei Cavalieri is an ideal starting point for cycling and walking tours. It is just outside the town of Santa Maria Lignano and 8 km from Assisi. The property is set within citrus groves and features rooms decorated with antiques from the early 1900s. The rooms offer beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and include satellite TV and a private bathroom. Breakfast is buffet style, while the restaurant operates a km 0 policy, using only locally produced ingredients. The property is actually a working organic farm.

We loved it here and spent a very happy relaxed weekend here by the pool in the mountains, after the hectic heat of Assisi. The food and wine are delicious, we had dinners and breakfasts - all superb. You feel very remote and removed from everything and the scenery and quiet is a delight. They very helpfully sent a message before to forewarn the GPS takes you the wrong way if you follow the address link here, and sent direction by text which were easy to follow. The road is potholed and steep so just make sure you have the right car for the trip up into the hills. Really loved it here, would go back.

“A small piece of heaven”
A little peace of heaven in the mountains - we loved the peaceful atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the no kids rule, and how the whole place is made for peaceful retreats. The restaurant was exquisite and so was their wine. At all times we felt welcome and taken care of. The pool was a much appreciated bonus.

Charming house lost in the valley. Great spot if you are seeking a quiet place, with a pool with amazing view. The room was spacious and clean. Great service with very nice staff/host. Option to lunch/dine on site, delicious food - we had the best pasta of our trip there.

A magical place immersed in green in a huge park. Quite new apartments are furnished in a modern Tuscan style. Good breakfast served in a beautiful patio. The dinner experience was also great thanks to Ricardo and Alicia's generous hospitality.

“A very pleasant taste of rural Umbria quite close to Assisi so a good combo of city and countryside.”
The breakfast was excellent and the evening meals absolutely delicious and a little different. Because I didn't research properly and the location is very remote, we took a treacherous road to get there. Our mistake! Having found the better road the next day, travel was far easier. One has a real feeling of being in a rural location with lovely views of hills from the pool and terrace over 'ginestra' and wild flowers. A spectacular nearly full moon, rose over the mountains and the setting of the pool was lovely. The owners and staff charming.
