A short walk to the bus stop. We met Marco upon arrival. A very friendly host. There's a washer in the apartment but no dryer. There's a laundry rack. I'll defintely come back to this apartment again when we visit Assisi.

In such a town of steep streets and stairways, it was always nice to come back to the flat because it was downhill all the way! It was superbly located near the basilica and minutes away from the local buses and the station bus. Well worth visiting by train. Lovely, modern spacious flat

“Like stepping back in time…”

Appreciated the easy late check in after a last minute change to our plans. We stayed in the superior apartment which was great for accessibility for the buses and taxis, while only up a few steps inside. Great location in Assisi. We enjoyed the cosiness and simplicity of the apartment. It had everything we needed for our stay and is excellent value for money - and the quietest washing machine I have ever heard. We loved the great charm of staying in such an ancient building right at the Porto San Francesco. I wish we had more time in Assisi. We would definitely return. Thank you, Marco, for such an easy stay. We loved it.

The apartment was beautiful and we liked everything. It had a nice (complete) kitchen and bathroom, and the location was excellent—just a few meters from the bus stop and the San Francisco gate parking. We were very happy with our stay!!

Spacious, clean, and cute apartment in the heart of the old Assisi! Had everything you need, including washing machine, well equipped kitchen, etc. Marco was very helpful and easy to communicate with! If you have a chance, definitely book this place and you will have a wonderful time!

Nice roomy apartment very close to the Basilica. Very convenient for parking. Assisi is hilly so expect to walk uphill for your visit. Marco was very helpful.

Marco was very accommodating when we said we might be arriving early. Marco met us at the apartment and showed us through it. He was also very helpful with information about places to eat and grocery stores. It was also a wonderful apartment.

“A beautiful place to stay when visiting Assisi”

Holiday lets don’t have to be perfect for us to love them, but Casa Frate Elia is both loveable and perfect. It's located mere metres away from the stunning Basilica di San Francesco. This place of devotion and pilgrimage is also a monument to the art of the fresco. Make sure you plan for at least a couple of visits during your stay – the lower and upper basilicas are too much to take in on a single visit. The apartment is fresh, comfortable and roomy, with a great sofa, fully equipped kitchen, plus good wi-fi and wonderful street and country views. The inclusion of a traditional moka stove-top coffee pot is a nice touch. Having a washing machine is always a big bonus for us when we're travelling. For arrival and departure, it’s very close to the bus station, where you can also get taxis. Our remote host, Marco, was very helpful and charming. Casa Frate Elia is truly exceptional and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and to stay here again in marvellous Assisi.

“Superb location near Basilica di San Francesco, but don't add a 3rd person, bad sofa bed”

Superb location, just a short walk to the Basilica di San Francesco, which to us was the main attraction of the city. Lovely medieval building, with a fresco of the madonna and child above the door to the building. Fridge full of water, & on the first floor. The location was just fantastic, not far from one of the ancient portals to the walled city, so quite close to a parking lot just outside the city walls.

The apartment is lovely - sometimes what you get is not what you see in the pictures, but in this case it was better. The apartment is large, clean and in a wonderful location. The views from the apartment are splendid. And Marco is a perfect host - he provided useful information about Assisi with great suggestions of places to visit; he responded to messages almost immediately and went out of his way to ensure my stay was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place and if I go back to Assisi I will hope this apartment is available as I would love to stay again :-)
