Exceptional Guesthouse Experience at Guesthouse Azas – Highly Recommended! Guesthouse Azas is absolutely beautiful, very well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessities you need for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. The guesthouse is run by a very kind and thoughtful lady. At first, she may seem a bit strict, but this is completely understandable and necessary when dealing with tourists. She wants to ensure that nothing gets broken and that no guests disturb each other – her careful approach is actually a sign of her dedication. What truly made my experience unforgettable was how incredibly helpful she was. When I needed a taxi, she not only helped me organize one, but she even wrote a note for the taxi driver in Japanese explaining that I would need a return trip. She couldn't find a taxi company available, so she made the extraordinary decision to personally pick me up herself – privately and on her own time. I have never experienced anything like this before! Her generosity and kindness went far beyond what I expected from a host. Because of this remarkable experience, I can warmly recommend Guesthouse Azas to anyone visiting the area. Clean, comfortable and convenient. The communal kitchen was well stocked. The instant noodles and drinks were very reasonably priced.

The room was covered in tatami, the bed was very comfortable and the duvet was very warm! The owner pays good attention to detail and house hygiene, so be sure to follow the rules. She explained everything, from where to eat to what to visit at mt. Aso. We stayed only one night, but it was very pleasant.

The room was spacious with clean common areas and sufficient facilities for self-service cooking. The house decoration was cozy with several famous Japanese characters. The washing machine was available for use and the detergent was provided. There was a "DIY store" in the kitchen, selling instant noodles, and postcards.

Friendly and informative staff, very clean facilities and provided opportunity to meet other travellers.

Everything you need is there, including a kitchen with full self-catering facilities, and correct usage to respect the property and other guests is clearly explained. The location is an easy walk to the station and the prices are good value.

Great location, in walking distance from the Aso train station (about 10 minutes). Guest house was clean and comfortable for two nights stay. Our twin room was big enough, with small sofa, so we could relax there. Bus station is next to the train station. Bus to the volcano works on first come - first serve basis, so it is recommended to go to the station slightly in advance, especially during the rush hours. Local onsen is near to the station but it was closed on Monday, so we were not able to visit it.

The hostess was very nice and helped with planing our days at aso. Also there is a lot of information provided of the area! The guesthouse itself was very warm, clean, nice and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy. Also a few minutes walk from the station and the convenience store. The kitchen was well a quipped.
