AsoHakuunSanso quietly located in the vast Aso Caldera Basin at the foot of Mt.Aso is a natural hot spring resort hotel Enjoy the view of the majestic Aso mountains from the hotel, and relax in the hot spring of AkamizuOnsen, which is good for beautiful skin, and the delicious cuisine for which the hotel prides itself. All rooms in the hotel building have twin bedsroom and offer views of the five Aso peaks or the outer rim of Aso.JP Superior rooms have beds on tatami mat floors, allowing guests to take off their shoes. Dinner and breakfast is served buffet style with a variety of Japanese and Western dishes will be served at GOGAKU restaurant. The hotel is located 15 km from Aso Shrine and 18 km aroundf Mt.Aso. You can come here on foot in 10 minutes from the nearest station, JR Akamizu Station. A free shuttle bus to and from JR Akamizu Station is also available. and there are also 80 free parking spaces available.

“Comfortable stay”
This was a comfortable hotel but be aware, it's not really near any of the bigger towns or facilities of Aso. It does however, have a car park, which was an important factor in our decision making. Room was comfortable if a little small from other places we stayed on Kyushu, wifi was good and breakfst is included. If you want to have dinner at the hotel, it costs over $60 AUD a person so you may want to think about having a big lunch or bringing some snacks back to the hotel. There is an onsen included in the hotel price however we didn't take a look as we didn't have time.

“Better than expected”
I didn't have high expectations for this hotel as most of the photos of it showed the parking lot, but once you are there you see that it is in the flats surrounded by beautiful mountains. It is clean, comfortable and the staff is excellent. It's a good hotel from which to explore this beautiful area.

“Perfect hotel to visit Mount Aso National Park”
The hotel is well located, closed to the Aso National Park. It offers modern and clean rooms and the possibility to use hot springs. The dinner and breakfast buffet have hight quality food with many options. It also has a car parking for the guests.

The rooms were roomy by Japan standards and the public onsen nice to use even though it was in an enclosed space (it didn’t feel like a basement). The buffet breakfast and dinner was excellent, the grilled beef was so tender and sashimi nice and fresh. However there are no dinner options in the town itself, only in the next town over but they are small shops and can get fully booked so plan ahead or just eat at the accommodation for ease of planning.

“Relaxing holiday for us, we enjoyed the meals and onsen.”
We enjoyed our stays as bought the half boarding with onsen. The place is clean and fill with 65% foreigners. It’s misty so cannot view the volcano and sighting only 10cm
