In a beautiful setting, the colonial Manor House was impressive. It was welcoming and gave the impression of staying at a friend’s house rather than being at a hotel.

It is a very peaceful location. Staff are exceptionally attentive. The swimming pool was a great addition to the relaxing atmosphere. The food was really delicious.

A beautiful hotel in a perfect position with wonderful staff and fabulous food, yet which felt just like staying in a friend’s home. The evening meals were exceptional with three beautifully presented courses and excellent wines. A lovely pool overlooking the vines, walks through the vineyards, complementary wine experiences, one of the best places ever in South Africa, Already planning our next visit.

Situated in the middle of Excelsior‘s huge vineyards we could easily relax and enjoy the great food - don‘t miss the optional dinner! However, at the end the people make the difference - we felt highly welcome and will definitively come back for another stay.

Very friendly service

Great location with breakfast at the pool area overseeing the vineyards! Personalized wine walk organized with assistance from Kirstin and Michelle. Wetshof, Van Looveren and Viljoensdrift within walking distance, allowing nice walk through the vineyards to get there. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Great kitchen staff and James showing great hospitality skills! We loved our stay here. Highly recommended!

Fabulous guest house! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The rooms are spacious, beds are super comfortable, bathrooms well equipped and the food was delicious. The menu changes daily and care is taken to accommodate any special dietary needs. The attention to detail is simply outstanding (look out for sprigs of lavender in the bathroom!). As you’d expect on a Winery. the wine was plentiful, but other drinks were readily available and thoroughly enjoyed as we lay out by the pool. We enjoyed a trip round the vineyards on their golf cart, with Tessa the border collie never far from our side! Thank you so much - you are fabulous hosts. Hope to see you again one day.

The setting is stunning and the people there so friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend the meal. It was a great start to our western cape tour.

It was the perfect start for our SA vacation - a beautiful house, fresh breakfast, clean and very nice pool to escape the heat and amazing wine and dinner! There was nothing else what we could have wished for. Special Bonus: They had a golf card to explore the wineyard and a cute private terrace with our room where we could enjoy a glass of the homemade sweet wine that was served every day in our room 😍 great!

Excelsior is a home from home. Kristin and James are very attentive to all the guests needs. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are pampered. Being on a farm and in such a beautiful area with lots to do makes this stay even more special.
