A container box converted hotel; small room; basic setup. Got everything needed, included a microwave. Got the checkin instruction before arrival and thought it is a self-service hotel. Eventually, found out the front desk in fact operates from 10am till 11pm. If you carry big luggage, do not take the South exit of Ashikaga station although it is closer as there is no elevator. Better take the North exit. There are two R9 The Yard hotels in Ashikaga. Watch out when you check from goggle. “Hotel R9 The Yard Ashikagaekinishi” is the one closer to the station.

Did not take any food. Room was compact and had everything we needed for an overnight stay.

Room was comfortable with all amenities required. For a Japanese hotel room, it felt spacious and airy. Heating was good for a cold night. Free microwave noodles meal was tasty.

I was a little hesitant to stay in a container, but it was comfortable and in reality not much different from most Japanese hotel rooms. The staff were great. I appreciated the complimentary microwave meal and other amenities on offer. The massage chair was a nice touch too.

“Convenient and comfortable stay”

The location was quite central between Ashikaga and Ashikagashi stations, making it easy to travel from Narita Airport and to other parts of Ashikaga. There was a bus stop and other attractions nearby and the area was pretty quiet as compared to a more urban area, aside from cars driving past outside. The room was clean and the property provided various amenities for free, including a simple frozen meal, so the stay was quite value for money. It was also helpful that the property assisted with storing my luggage before check-in/after check-out, although this depends on the space available at the front desk.

“Nice place”

The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. We were given food coupons to use each day so our dinners were included in the price. The room was big enough for two of us.

Great room and facilities. Comfortable bed and chair. Exceptional design. Reasonable price. Daily breakfast tokens. Unlimited coffee.

“Damn disappointed”

People get cheated with that big building is the hotel not the container box . Why you people put that apartment building in pictures with your container box hotel. When I came to hotel iwas damn disappointed. I don’t have any options,that’s why i satay. And there is no any person to return the key on morning. Total waist of time. Very disappointed.

The tiny containers themselves are cute, about the size of a normal business hotel room, and super clean / modern. They have a fancy computer chair (great for workcation) and mini fridge and microwave, making it feel doable for longer stays. Small, but has everything you could want.

The room was very nice and clean, it was very interesting staying in such a small container/room. I have never stayed in a hotel like this before. The only thing was when other people would go to their rooms you would hear it very loudly especially at night and it would feel like a small earthquake. Beside this everything was nice.
