Overview
Only a few steps from Lake Maggiore, Hotel Arancio is set in a subtropical landscape 2 km from Ascona. It features a large, heated outdoor pool overlooking the lake. Great hotel... beautifully maintained, incredible location with wonderful views overlooking Lake Maggiore. Wonderful staff, great restaurant, beautiful pool and outdoor spaces, including dining terrace. Highly recommend. Easy access to Locarno via 15 minute bus that stops just below the hotel. Peaceful compared to busy Locarno.

“It’s worth the extra to get a lake view room - see photos”
Very welcoming and friendly staff, clean room, and very nice restaurant with a superb coffee machine. Just a short walk over the hill is the pretty town of Ascona which is well worth a visit to sir by the lake with a beer.

“MEMORABLE!”
This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location - we had two fantastic views of the lake from our room. Bedroom was a good size with very comfy beds. There is noise from the road outside... but we accepted that. Sadly we didn't get to enjoy the private pool area, which looked colourful and immaculately clean - as were all areas of the hotel. We cannot fault the care and attention from ALL the staff. We had a medical issue - before we had even checked in, that required a hospital visit and are overwhelmed with the caring response and assistance for everyone we encountered. It made our problem so much easier to deal with. Eating, overlooking the lake is stunning. The quality and range of dishes was first class and beautifully presented. We were fortunate to sample the Ticino speciality evening with local food and music which was great fun! We cannot thank the manager enough for his concern and help, by offering us an extended stay and constantly checking in on us. He has clearly trained his staff to be the best you would want from any hotel. Thank you so much again .... and we will return to enjoy your hospitality to the full next time.

“Lovely pool and terrace, helpful staff and free parking”
It is our second time in Arancio and we again enjoyed the views, the pool and location. We need to warn that a walk to Ascona involved a number of steps. The staff was helpful and accommodating. Relaxing by the pool or drinks on the terrace in the evening was a highlight. It was cute to see chef picking up basil from their own small kitchen garden. We need to say there is currently a building going on on the other side of the road with some noise involved. Thus should end in the foreseeable future so we would return
