A lovely hotel that does justice to a charming town. The cleanliness is 5-star level, thanks to the dedicated housekeeping service. The rooms themselves were wonderful—so comfortable, with modern bathrooms and great shower pressure. But the staff are what make it truly special: kind, beautiful, and fluent in English. Just a perfect experience.

The staff were very friendly and helpful - with great communication from booking right through to dropping us off at the train station! Hotel was very comfortable and really amazing value for money. Pool was great. Room lovely and housekeeping kept it fresh throughout our stay. The toiletries smelled amazing. Good minibar. Really good location for exploring the archeological site. The hotel's restaurant served excellent food. Breakfast was great.

The room was spotless. The staff were exceptionally friendly. It's very close to the beach, and there's also a pool. Breakfast was great, but more on the European side.

Very cosy hotel in a quiet surrounding. The hotel is nicely decorated in a lush Mediterranean garden. Good size pool and nice sun terrace with bar. Extremely friendly staff. The rooms a very nicely decorated and bathrooms are spacious. Walking distance to restaurants and gelateria. A charm hotel I recommend

The hotel is well designed, enjoyable, quiet, and has a perfect pool. I liked nice and friendly staff at the reception and enjoyed excellent breakfasts. The location is great as well -- away from the main road and some 250 m from the beach. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

“Please - for nice, easy and safe vacation …, choose another hotel - the surroundings are miserable, the food is a disast”

We chose the Porta Rosa hotel from all over Italy. It was our first and last time at this hotel! the hotel smells, beautiful garden, charming swimming pool - and what good is it if you don't care about the guests? We chose the option with breakfast - a tragedy. the same thing for 5 days, a lot of vegetables - one coffee per person taken from the back room. Italy is the country of coffee - it was watery Americana. no coffee machine. no kettle in the room. no possibility to buy during the day - supposedly a snack bar - no service. we felt like intruders with children - no theme evenings, no animation, no life. Lack of passion and stinginess. We ordered a takeaway breakfast - we received 4 dry cakes, a spoiled cake from yesterday and two waffles for 2 adults and 2 children. coffee and juices were not provided. lack? or intentional act of the staff. After contacting them, they didn't even reply. the only plus is the man at the pool! cool ! the only nice one in the entire hotel. Everyone writes that it is clean - it freshens the corridor! the sheets need to be changed for guests - not just made for 3 days - they are dirty, but beautifully made twice a day. don't eat there!

“Lovely stay”

Very kind and welcoming staff, convenient shuttle transfer from train station, excellent mattress and pillows, private beach nearby, had one of the smaller room and still felt very comfortable, serene location (quietness suspended only sparsely and enjoyably by the train passage), delightful courtyard with old olive trees (likely and fortunately salvaged from a former orchard), bikes available to get around the place. In the vicinity of the hotel one can also find a very nice namesake restaurant; there aren’t very many other options nearby for lunch/dinner, though for what i’ve managed to see that is not much different than for the rest of the Ascea (with the caveat of the season being only incipient when I visited); but then again, the Being is so much more than eating :) (winking at all the aficionados of eleatic school of thinking wandering here for good reason). I would very gladly return to Porta Rosa whenever back in Ascea in hope to meet again the same charming people and place.

“Very good modern hotel in quite high standard”

It is very modern, clean and resonably priced hotel, equipped with everything needed even for longer stay. It stands in the middle of nowhere but is in quite high standard. My room was not that big but there was enough space. However, the shower was large and comfortable. Breakfast was in bufet style, tasty and various – fruits, ham and chease (served to the table), some egg if requested, porrage in different flavours etc. Reception is 24 hours a day and it was important to me as far as I arrived late in the evening. The Staff was very friendly. There is also parking space at the area of the hotel – for about 6-7 cars (better to be reserved though it is not needed). It is good hotel for one transit night as well as base for sightseeing around in Campania, Basilicata, Calabria.
