Overview
Located in Ascain, in the Basque Country, the guest house Maison Iratzean has a garden with an outdoor swimming pool that offers you a view of the Rhune and its mountains. If you prefer the ocean, 10 minutes by car and you're feet in the sand in Saint Jean de Luz. Overlooking the mountains or the garden, all rooms are equipped with a private bathroom with hairdryer. Flat screen television, Wi-Fi, and dolce gusto coffee and tea machines. Some have a balcony or terrace. Two rooms are located on the first floor of the house: the room with balcony and the king size bed room. Two other rooms are located in "Victor's workshop" which is in the garden of the property. They are the triple room and the double room. Access to the garden and the swimming pool (in season) Free parking in the property (tourist car only) Breakfast is served daily and can be enjoyed on the terrace, in the veranda or inside. Bars and restaurants can be found within a 10-minute walk. The Spanish border is just 8 km away and the Rhune Tourist Train 3 km away. Saint-Jean-de-Luz Train Station is located 5 km from the property and Biarritz - Anglet - Bayonne Airport is a 30-minute drive away.

The stay exceeded all our expectations. The location was perfect, the welcome was exceptional for both us and our dog, the room was spacious the bed very comfortable, and the breakfast was well presented and plentiful. Will be returning later in the year.

The accomodation is in a beautiful location, with amazing views of the hills. Nearby (walkable - 15/20 mins) there is few lovely restaurants and bars, bakeries etc. (just check opening times before heading in). The guest house was clean and breakfast was excellent - would recommend the room with a balcony. Joelle (owner) was absolutely lovely, knowledgeable and very accommodating, helping us book an early taxi to the airport and even did a little pack-lunch style breakfast for us! There is a bus that you can catch from the end of the road which is good, buses aren't that regular and the last one back from St Jean De Luz is at approx. 7pm. Taxis are quite expensive, from St Jean De Luz to the accomodation was €25. I would highly recommend booking if you want a relaxing time somewhere quiet and beautiful with good food and wine!

The property was fabulous; stylish and in a great location. We were able to sit on the balcony with wonderful views of the Mountains but we’re in easy striking distance of coastal locations such as Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz.

The house is located with a beautiful view over the green hills. Breakfast was tasty and sufficient including home made jams. The room was cosy and the host friendly. There was also a charming little dog.

We travelled with our dog and were made most welcomed by our hosts and their own dog. It was only a stop-over on our way North. But we found it could make a perfect base to explore the area around. The location is wonderful, only a short distance from Saint Jean and the delightful village of Ascain. For breakfast we were presented with home-made jam and a good selection of fresh products.

Joëlle was a helpful and welcoming host. Our accommodation was perfect and had everything we needed. The area was quiet and if the weather had been warmer we would have taken advantage of the pool. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
