“Exceptional Stay in Asago”

I loved the vibrant, comforting, traditional decor and building. It was exceptional in its quality and design. The hosts were exquisitely kind and helpful in all ways. The meals were a sumptuous and delicious experience in traditional Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Location - 10 minute walk from Wadayama station - no footpath in some sections. Room - large and spacious for one person, with traditional decorations. I liked the inclusion of a tea set, and the green tea bags were of high quality. There is a sink in the room, but no toilet. Amenities - the toilet is down the hall, and is shared with other guests. There is no heating so it can get cold during winter. The large onsen bath didn't appear to be in operation but the small one was - this was alright. Staff - very friendly and hospitable. The owner offered to drive me to the station upon checking out due to the rainy weather. Overall a cozy ryokan experience without the hefty price tag, good value for money and met expectations.

The owners' service, great food, super clean room/facilities and close proximity to the station. Oh, and the futon bed was super warm and comfortable to sleep on.

“Cozy and traditional atmosphere”

The food was excellent, always fresh, varied and typically Japanese. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful.They could speak and understand a basic english.You feel very safe.The rooms are lovingly decorated in traditional Japanese style and equipped with air conditioning. The inn accommodates only a few guests and thus creates a very familiar atmosphere. We felt very comfortable and would come back again and again.

Breakfast was amazing, and the couple running the place are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us make a reservation at a restaurant we wanted to try, and were super quick when we wanted to change the breakfast time. There is also a beautiful small garden to which we had access to directly from our room!

Amazing traditional japanese room, kind owners, even gave us a ride when we needed.

Very good food at reasonable prices. And a lovely couple running the place. Nice big room and a comfortable futon. Enough to do in the area to enjoy yourself for a couple of days.

The traditional Japanese decoration was absolutely beautiful, especially the small veranda overlooking the garden — the morning view was magical. The room was serene and elegant, the futon comfortable and the traditional Japanese food was delicious and refined. Additionally, the hosts, a lovely couple were so kind — it felt like being welcomed into a Japanese family. The whole experience was unforgettable. We were truly delighted. Thank you again!

We spent the night here to visit Takeda Castle, as well as Ritsuunkyo Mountain, which is only one train stop away. The owners were extremely polite, genuinely friendly, and chatty! The rooms were traditional Japanese in style and very clean. The bathroom was separate, but we had it entirely to ourselves. There is also a bath, which you can use privately or share with the person staying in the same room. The accommodation was very comfortable overall. It was raining as we were leaving, the owners kindly drove us to the station!

The room is beautiful and spacious at a reasonable price, our hosts made us feel so welcome and helped us get a taxi for the next morning to view the unkai. Flawless!

Excellent, cosy little Ryokan run by a really friendly and lovely local couple. They gave us a drive to the base of Takeda Castle so we could do the walk without having to get an irregular local train.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Ryokan is located close to the train station and was easy to find with Google maps. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the large breakfast provided. The room was warm and comfortable, and the house itself was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this Ryokan! Thank you!

“Well worth visiting!”

The hosts were welcoming, accommodating and hospitable. It's within easy walking distance of the train station, as well as the shops over the river. The dinner and breakfast were huge! We loved having traditional Japanese meals. The experience felt very authentic and the host lady even dropped us at the starting point for the Takeda Castle hike, as well as at the train station when we checked out! We would love to return.

The host, speaking very good English, is very kind to provide a very warm atmosphere. The room is spacious, and the breakfast is delicious.
