“A good break to keep on with the Camino”

Absolutely stunning - if you want to have a break from the hard effort, this is the place. Private SPA, massage, the room is protected from the noise, the mattress is perfect for resting and dinner/breakfast are totally home madre with a very reasonable price, I just loved. I'll be back

The setting is beautiful and the pool and the garden are just lovely, especially if you are lucky enough to get some sun. The beds were super comfortable. The food at dinner time was good and it was nice to not have to go out

Only 6 rooms on the property. Very nice and helpful staff. The spa was clean and good quality. The massage was good. The food and service was really good. The communal green area around the pool is large and really nice. The courtyard to the room is a nice bonus. I would return and happily recommend it!

“Probably not great for Camino”

I arrived at the hotel on the third day of the Camino. It is a quiet hotel, with a calm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at peace. It’s important to keep in mind that the hotel is not in the city center, which adds a few extra kilometers to the route. The hotel has a restaurant; the food is fine, nothing exceptional. The staff is very professional and courteous.

“Good Location, Average Experience”

My stay at Hotel Curuxa was fine overall. The location is quiet, WiFi was strong, and the onsite restaurant and bar were convenient. Staff were nice and welcoming.

The receptionist was very pleasant. Property was clean. Enjoyed the jacuzzi after a long walk on the Camino Frances.

“Boutique hotel feel in a peaceful setting”

The property is beautiful… a little bit out of town but we enjoyed the peace and tranquility. The owner, Aldara, was super helpful and friendly, even phoning for a reservation for dinner for us! The food was superb… fresh salad and toasties at the poolside for lunch and a delicious breakfast too. I appreciated the gluten-free options for breakfast as well as the lactose free milk option.

“Really disappointed”

Would not recommend! Sells themselves as a ‘wellness’ hotel but you’re charged extra for any type of wellness facility (hot tub/ sauna etc)! The receptionist is also never around so feels like a creepy ghost hotel. I’ve stayed in cheaper places that were a lot better! Rooms were also quite dirty which was really disappointing. I didn’t feel that they cared or even wanted us there. Try somewhere closer to town instead of here and don’t waste your money!

A lovely break from the heat in great, easy to control air conditioning. Great pool! Food was lovely.

“Quite nice but a bit far out the town”

Hotel is quote nice, unexpectedly comfortable when you come in the room. Very clean and has all you need for a short stay. The massage lady is very skilled and extremely nice, you need to bool a massage with her.

“Peaceful, relaxing stay”

Beautiful peaceful location - we liked being outside of the town but pleasant 20 minute walk. Nice respite on a Camino rest day. Lovely garden to relax in. Wellness facilities very new and clean. Excellent massage! Each room has private terrace.

The room was clean comfortable and warm with outdoor space. Friendly staff and good wine. We enjoyed the lovely restaurant across the road.

“Oasis op tranquility”

It is a little oasis on the outskirts of Arzua (1.7km from the town). Very tranquil and efficiently run. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast were of a high quality and very tasty and enjoyable. There appear to be only 6 rooms which means it is not crowded and adds to the ambience of the overall experience. It is near the Camino del Norte.

“Great place to rest and recover!!!!”

This is such a great place to stay during the Camino. It’s a bit outside the center of town, but a short taxi ride will take you there in minutes. The room was nice, clean, and modern, with a great bed and everything you need to be comfortable. The pool was a big plus for us; the cold water was the best medicine for our tired legs. We slept so well, and the next day we were rested and ready to continue. They have a bar/restaurant which is great for chilling on the terrace. Also, the girl at reception was super nice and helpful with organizing our taxi the next day and attending to our questions and requests. Loved our stay here!

The spa should use professional staff, not having the cook double as a therapist
