The hospitality and reception was just PERFECT. The siting area was amazing! Fresh air, Trees, very green. The room was ok and breakfast made by Jenifer was also very nice. We are highly reccommend this place! Nearby clock tower.

“Lovely backpackers in a good location, but no kitchen!”

The staff was pleasant and helpful. Joseph has access to a broad network of local guides which is helpful especially if you’re on a budget. Do double check the travel information you get from him though like distances between villages and rural bus schedules. All in all lovely stay. The rooms are clean and shower is hot and decent.

“Good place to stay for a night”

Basic and affordable place to stay in Arusha, 15 minutes walk into the more busy parts of town, calm environment, you can hear the birds chirping.

It was actually better than expected. Room and bathroom were clean. Very kind girl at the reception. We took a fresh meal in the evening and we also had breakfast. All very tasty. Beautiful garden and common area.

It really lives up to it's name, the garden is very nice. The staff are really welcoming and the breakfast is great. The area is very nice as well, and it's fairly central. They organize safaris and other tours, and there's a restaurant and a bar. I had a great stay here.

“Complicated”

It is the most difficult review I have written so far . The first few days staying there everything was great and I could give 10 out of 10. Clean , quiet, peaceful, good breakfast, good value for money and good location . They even gave me a free ride from the bus terminal which I highly appreciate . I went to a safari for a few days and once I got back, they actually forgot about my booking but still managed to give me a bed in a dorm, where the real disaster happened. At 1 o’clock at midnight while sleeping, a woman who herself was not even staying in the hostel came to the room , woke me up shouting at me that I have to leave. She shouted, insulted , harrased me and literally scared me to death. Apparently there was a misunderstanding but the problem was that the reaction of the owner to protect me as a guest was extremely slow and gentle (because that woman made a huge booking for a lot of students and was bringing good money to the hostel) the owner couldn’t provide any kind of security or safety or good feeling at that moment. That aggressive woman was shouting till three o’clock in the property and I could sleep just two hours because I was scared and felt horrible. The next morning I packed and left. The interesting part: the owner didn’t even think of charging me less for that horrible scary night as an apology and charged me completely for two hours of sleep ! I have never experienced this before and I have never felt this unsafe and scared at night in a hostel

“Decent hostel, untrustworthy safari company”

The actual hostel is nice enough, you get what you pay for. The chef is an absolute legend, we loved him and he made our stay so much better with his happy attitude

Good location with kindly staff, a good breakfast and very good safari organization. Strongly recommends for backbacker to choosing Green garden hostel.
