“Beautiful farm house in amazing area.”

The farm area, river next to the property, forests hiking, waterfalls the location is fantastic. They do everything organic which is fantastic. The room was nice and comfortable and the common space was very nice as well.

“Amazing stay”

Banana resort is quite a vibe. I have stayed at many hotels, but nothing compares to this one. The rooms were spacious, comfy and clean. The staff were always available to assist. The fellow guests were also warm and considerate. The breakfast was adequate. We had so much to do, we did not visit the farm, but we will do so during our next visit. I really enjoyed my stay there, and I would definitely come back.

“For Nature Lovers”

Stayed in a cabin next to the river. The green of the forest around the cabin was great, the sound of the flowing river was magical.

Fantastic place, I have been raving about it to everyone in the uk. It is set in a gorgeous village, totally local and authentic, untarnished by mass tourism. The highlight was the free tour of the farm and medicinal plants on the property. There is even a river where you can swim/ cool off. Fantastic way to bond with the other travellers too.

“Great experience at the banana farm.”

Despite the difficult road through the Ambureni village, the final location of the Banana Farm proved a gem at the base of Mount Meru, near a river, with cabins peppered amongst the banana trees. The farm features a cosy central gathering place with a bar and a fire place (I loved the Kilimanjaro beer), a dining room connected to their kitchen, spaces to lie down and relax, a pool with a few chaise longs and wooden tables and benches, outside showers. The whole premises were well maintained and cleaned relentlessly by the staff (sweeping daily the pebbled alleys, cleaning the pool etc.). All staff were very attentif and welcoming. Regina was very helpful helping with organising the trips, transport and activities. Special thanks to chef Meshack who cooks delicious dishes and to Miriam, his kitchen assistant. I would say the food was better than in the big, full of stars hotels we stayed in Dar and Kampala during this trip. If you want to be guided anywhere, ask for Amani, a young Maasai who guided us on the farm tour and on the local hikes to the the waterfalls, showing great knowledge of local plants, landscape, and Maasai culture. Honest, well educated and warm hearted guy. Bananas were free to eat, there were always free teas and coffee available in the diner, they sold their own products (fruit jams, coffee bags ) at the bar. They are using biogas, feed their cattle with the organic waste from the kitchen, having a good shot at creating an eco friendly, locally self sustained environment. Friendly monkeys , squirrels and birds visiting the cabins. We decided it was definitely a better choice for us to stay at the farm, than to have chosen an accomodation in Arusha.

The off grid cabins are very nice and comfortable. We loved the sound of the river and the clean environment. The meals were also good. It was a great location for our family retreat.

“Paradise”

We came back to banana eco village after 7 years. It was even more magical than the first time. There’s everything you need in an amazing setting. Staff is amazing. The cabins are decorated with taste. Inspiring. We will be back for sure!

“real banana forest, we like it.”

Its a unique place off the road. I was impressed by the thick forest. It offered a variety of rooms with a lot of family options for a very good price. The food was basic but good and safe. Its good that we arrived during daylight, otherwise our kids would have been frightend by the long ways through forest pathways. Later we loved to sit at the fire place at the evening and had some local banana beer.

Really nice welcoming hostel. Free farm tours daily. Cute family style dinners. Lots of nice area to sit and relax.

The quality of bananas.

Crikey! What a delight and pearl this hostel is. The road in is a bit bumpy but leads to an oasis of calm and simple but delightful elegance. Nothing is too much trouble. The farm tour is inspirational and delightful. The staff are sooooo friendly and helpful - please do leave a tip 😀... The meals are simple, fresh and wholesome. The common areas and bar are wonderful. The bunches of bananas to help yourself to, are a great idea. Definitely choose this location to unwind, explore and get in touch with the Tanzanian locals.

“Perfect value for price and the most friendly staff”

From the 5 places we stayed at in Tanzania/ Zanzibar, this place had the best value-for-price. Very affordable, authentic experience with extremely friendly staff. We were welcomed by 4 people when arriving at 3am from the airport. Do the farm tour (1h) to enjoy the nice banana farm, the scenery at the river and a short walk through the village. Wonderful pool.

“Amazing”

The hospitality was top notch and i appreciated the staff waited for me as I got to Arusha at 1:00 a.m and checked in around 1:30 a.m. I will definitely go back. The breakfast was also well prepared and filling.

Everything! The staff was so kind! The food was amazing. If you need help with anything you can ask them and they help you right away! Loved everything! The location is very calm and the area of the hostel is amazing! We booked the day safari and had an amazing guide is name was Meshalu and we saw so many amazing animals!

What a special place! I stayed in the Superior Chalet, which was very comfortable. The windows had screens so I was able to sleep with the window open and hear the river through the night. In the morning, there were monkeys leaping through the trees outside my room. I appreciated the mosquito net around the bet and having a kettle to make tea with. The bathroom was very nice, with hot water in the shower and flip flops to use. The light in the patio was out so I didn't have a chance to try the outdoor bath, but it looked nice. I wish I could have stayed longer to explore the farm more and hang out in the hammock on my porch - it was an idyllic spot!

this place is really cool! my husband and I stayed in a private cabin - lush relaxing oasis - the farm tour was really cool - affordable dinner - smoothies were good here - out room had an outdoor area with a bathtub which I def relaxed in - there are hikes you can do to nearby waterfall

Loved the calm environment and beautiful nature. The staff were very friendly, special thanks to Chef Thomas for the excellent service and Amani for the farm tour. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back! 😊
