“Beautiful but inconvenient”

We had booked one single and one double room, both with garden views, but unfortunately the single room we received did not have a garden view. Additionally, our luggage was placed in the wrong rooms, and it took quite a while to sort it out. Breakfast was good, but for lunch and dinner the property arranged food from a nearby Indian restaurant. The quality was disappointing, and the wait time was around 1.5–2 hours, which was quite inconvenient. On the positive side, the villa’s location is remote yet beautifully scenic, and Sebastian was kind and helpful throughout our stay.

We chose to stay here the last 2 days of our trip through Tanzania, and it was a very good choice to relax and chill after a 4/5 days safari. We had the garden view room with a lot of space, a very very comfortable bed and super clean. The garden of this house invites you to relax. The breakfast was very nice as well and the staff was always attentive to our requests.

Absolutely everything. The villa is elegant and spacious, the room we got was amazing, bedroom, dining room and enormous bathroom with a big tub (I believe we were upgraded to the suite). The shower was hot and with a lot of pressure, perfect after a safari with all the dust we got. We were served Indian dinner taken by a nice restaurant nearby. The garden is very nice to chill, with some nice little birds like turkeys roaming around. The staff was very warm and nice and helped us with everything, also to book our transfer to the airport. To kilimanjaro airport the transfer was about one hour and fifteen minutes as we got no traffic.

The house is very beautiful in a calm neighbourhood. The staff was really helpful and the diner was delicious. We highly recommend this gem.

We had an excellent stay at Amala villas for two nights after our safari. We wanted to relax and this was the perfect choice. In a quiet neighborhood with a lovely garden. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (including some special requests we had). The tasty homemade breakfasts and dinners were a highlight for us!

Unfortunately, our stay was severely compromised due to grave sanitation issues that fell far below any reasonable hospitality standard, directly impacting our health and causing significant distress. During the night, starting from the middle of the night, I felt something crawling on me and discovered numerous ants—both black and red—crawling over the bed, mattress, and pillows. Some of these ants bit me. We found ants all over the mattress, beneath it, and surrounding the bed. My husband had to remain awake all night attempting to remove the ants and ensure none reached me, as sleeping was impossible. No staff were available on-site during the night to address the matter. In the morning, I spoke to a young maintenance staff member, explained the severity of the issue, and showed him photos and videos documenting the infestation. His response—that “the ants are due to the weather”—was unacceptable and irrelevant. It is the property’s responsibility to ensure rooms are properly maintained, cleaned, and pest-free—standards which were clearly not met. I requested that the matter be conveyed to the villa’s ownership and that I receive a proper response or adequate compensation. Before departure, I was told “the owner has nothing to add,” a statement that is both unacceptable and disrespectful towards guests. Given the severe sanitation issues, lack of sleep, insect bites, and significant distress caused, I hereby demand: 1. A full refund for the night in question. 2. A formal response from Amala Villas management and Booking.com addressing how this incident was...

“Peaceful comfortable stay”

We were looking for a serene, comfortable stay following our safari and Amala Villas was perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful, modern amenities, peaceful gardens and a delicious breakfast and food menu. Would recommend.

Amazing accommodation in a nice quiet area. It has a very nice garden, the rooms are very spacious and clean, good WiFi and the people are extremely kind and hospitable. Definitely recommending this place!

The home is beautifully kept and surrounded by open space and a few big trees that make the whole environment feel grounded and calm. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the food was fresh and made with heart. If you’re looking for a cozy, peaceful place to stay where you feel truly taken care of, this is it. I left feeling rested and grateful. Would absolutely return!

Very clean, the owners are modernising all the rooms, we had the garden room, very spacious and very comfortable, had great nights sleep, the staff are very helpful, and the food is all cooked to order, and you can say what time you want to eat
