Jazz is a wonderful host who takes care of everything. The accommodation is clean and equipped with good air conditioning. The location is also very good, right by the beach. Jazz cooked us dinner in the evening (it wasn't charged to us, so we forgot to pay for it - sorry Jazz!). A perfect accommodation for Arugam Bay.

“We can definitely recommend it”

The host is super friendly! The rooms are big and it’s also a nice garden, with lot of plants. The breakfast was delicious! It is very near to the beach and he makes also a super tuktuk night safari, you just have to pay the tuktuk driver who is a friend of the host and we could give him what it was value for us. When you’re there, make it - don’t miss it! You can easily rent a scooter for 2000 per day by him, that’s very practical.

we had an unforgettable time at Tropicana Home Stay. The owners are a beautiful and kind family who helped us with questions, surf lessons, restaurant tips und much more. They even showed us some awesome locations nearby to spot wildlife. And gave us a cooking lesson too!! The rooms are big with AC and the nicest bathroom we had on our vacation in Sri Lanka. we can recommend this place 100%.

“Favourite place we have stayed!”

We absoulutely loved our room, so spacious and clean and great for relaxing after exploring A-Bay. We were so welcomed to the hotel and the staff were just amazing, I could not fault them! We were there to surf and it worked perfectly for us to walk along the beach to the break and they were able to set us up with people to take us to other places! Thanks guys for the best stay!

Great location right by the beach. The room was spacious, fresh and clean with a little terrace. Loved having a mini fridge and kettle too, thank you for a lovely stay!

“Best place in Arugum Bay”

Jazz and his family were incredible hosts. Jazz is incredibly welcoming and a great conversationalist. His wife even made us a delicious dinner one night! The rooms were perfect. The bed and pillows are comfortable, the wifi was fast and reliable, the shower was hot and had great water pressure, and the desk, kettle, and mini fridge were incredibly convenient for a long stay. We had such a lovely time here that we extended our stay twice! I cannot recommend Tropicana enough. We definitely will be back next time we're in Arugum Bay!

“The perfect place!”

What a wonderful place 😍. Such a lovely and helpful family is running this place. We felt so welcome and easy at this place. The room is very comfortable, spacious and clean. Everything seems to be new and of good quality. The host family invited us for dinner and they also gave us a cooking lesson. We also rented a scooter at their place and a their small supermarket is just next door. Also surrounded by many restaurants and shops and just two minutes from the beach. In the evening its a quite place. Everything we could wish for.

Jas and his family made us feel so welcome and were so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The location was perfect for the beach and the main area and was great to get to the surf as you could just walk down the beach to get there. We loved our room as well, big comfy bed, great bathroom and lots of space to relax. We will definitely come back if we are ever in Arugam bay again.

The rooms are excellent and great value compared to other places that I stayed in Aragum bay. The people that run it are lovely too and create such a relaxing atmosphere. The location is perfect as you're right by the beach and close to town but without too much noise. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and everything you could ask for.

Booked this place based on the outstanding reviews. Stayed here for 5 weeks June - July 2022. Beautiful, spacious, AC rooms with private bathroom. Modern, very clean, well maintained, big windows, bright with natural light. Hot water shower. Good breakfast. Excellent central location, right next to the beach, shops and restaurants. Very reasonable price. Jazz and his wife Miska are outstanding hosts. Excellent English, extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful and accommodating. They soon became like family to me. Would 100% recommend to anyone and everyone to stay here if visiting Arugam Bay. Worth every rupee.

I Booked one night at Tropicana and liked it so much that i extended for nearly a week with a fried. Our room had a fan, air-condition and a fridge. Jazz and Miska who own the place are very kindhearted and welcoming people. As we stayed during off season we got the chance to get to know them all. The family, brother, sisters....where there a lot. They offer cooking lessons, safari, laundry service, surflessons and much more. Right in front of the house is a little Supermarkt, run by Jazz and his brother. And the Beach is just around the corner. Because of the low season we had the chance to go on the safari tour with Jazz and his wife, which was fun. We also had dinner together and played UNO. If you stay there book youself surflessons with Risy. Amazing surf instructor and so kind and funny. We loved staying there and we cant say anything bad about it. We definitely would go there again. Especially during low season you'll love to stay there. We felt like coming as a stranger and leave as friends. Thanks a lot for making our stay so special.

I had a perfect stayed in Tropicana home stay. The best room so far, with a huge bed, hot shower, my own terrace... Everything was perfect. Jazz and his family is super friendly. We were playing cards at night and talking, so warm and familiar atmosphere. 100% recommended!
