I had an amazing stay at The Jungle House in Arugam Bay. The little jungle hut was cozy, clean, and surrounded by nature—perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. It feels peaceful and private yet is only a short walk to cafés and the ocean. A special shout-out to Lala. who was an exceptional host: friendly, thoughtful, and always ready with great local tips. I left feeling refreshed and already wish I’d booked a longer stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm, beautiful spot in Arugam Bay.

Perfect place in Arugam Bay. Laura is the best host ever, she helped us sorting out every kind of request (surfing lessons, scooter, bus timetables) and the house is conveniently located just 2 minutes walk from the main road with a great chilled atmosphere. Will stay again with no doubts. Super recommended!

Laura was a wonderful host, she practically helped us plan the rest of the Sri Lanka trip. Her house is a cosy abode. It is best for sustainable travellers. Carry some of your amenities.

Our stay at the Jungle House was exceptional. The room was clean and nicely laid out. The bathroom was great. But the best part is how special the owner Laura makes it. Everything was made easy for us - breakfast when we wanted, trips booked with ease, nothing too much trouble. She is such a kind person. She has made a lovely space, perfect for chilling out and enjoying Arugum Bay. We did a yoga class which was really relaxing. I would 100% recommend this property for your stay in Arugum Bay. I also loved that it is set back from the main road so not very noisy, but in a few minutes walk you are on the main row of shops and cafes. And only 5-10 min walk to the beach front. We hope to go back and stay here again! Thanks Laura, for everything.

It felt like home!! Our stay at the Jungle House can only be described as extraordinary and magical. We were especially impressed by the architecture of the house—thanks to its unique construction, it stays pleasantly cool without the need for air conditioning. It’s both visible and deeply felt how much love went into building the Jungle House. The room is cleaned daily, which we really appreciated. But the best part of this place is Laura, the owner and creator. She gives this place its heart and soul. Her sense for ecological, sustainable tourism in harmony with nature, along with the deep conversations we shared, truly inspired and enriched us. We will definitely come back!

The Jungle house is a beautiful place built with lots of love for detail in design and conciousness for ecofriendly technologys. The host, her son and the staff were always friendly and ready to answer any questions, give recommendations and help us whenever we needed anything.

Our favourite stay in Sri Lanka so far. Gorgeous house in a secluded area still very close to the beach, shops, restaurants etc. we felt very comfortable and welcomed. Laura and the staff were very kind and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. The cute cat was an added bonus :)

“A peaceful place to stay in Abay”

Clean rooms, tastefully furnished and the staff are very friendly. Since it’s a short walk (5-6 mins) inland, it is a great base for a longer stay in Arugambay as you can get away from the sounds of the main road.

“Home Away From Home”

We loved staying at the Jungle House! The room and the bathroom were very clean and beds were made almost every day. Bins were also emptied. The guesthouse has a very nice and aesthetic vibe and Laura is an amazing host! She was always happy to help us with questions and recommendations for the area. She also sells big (18 L) bottles of water for a good price (800 LKR) which was very convenient! The Jungle House is about 200m away from the main road, thus a little more quiet, but you can still walk everywhere. The room also came with a little kitchenette and kettle on the balcony and a fridge in the room. After having done extensive research on where to stay in ABay, we can confidently say that we found the best place! The cute cats living on the property are the cherry on the cake!
