An amazing place owned by Tanya and Anton that from the first moment felt like I had arrived home. I stayed there for a month and they always gave me a pleasant and warm feeling in the place. There is a stream in the backyard that always makes you feel in nature and the sea is a minute's walk away, so every morning I opened there. Thank you very much for the stay. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in Arugam. 🙏

“Perfect stay!”

It’s a beautiful place with very easy and chilled vibes. The rooms are spacious and the outdoor area is very pleasant with hammocks and seating area. You can use the kitchen in the facilities which is a huge win. It is at the entrance of the Bay just before the bars, cafes and restaurants start popping up which and everything is within 5 mins walking distance. The owners were super nice, we had to arrive very early morning due to the bus schedule and they let us check in much earlier than we should 🙏 they even baked a cake one morning and shared it with us 💙 I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an accommodation in Arugam Bay.

“Quiet Retreat and Relaxing Stay in Arugam Bay”

Romance in Bay is located in a quiet and peaceful area. Just a short walk from the beach and restaurants nearby. The room was comfortable and equipped with amenities such as a mini fridge, fan and towels. Both the room and bathroom were clean and we were able to check in early for an additional fee too. The property also has a well-equipped shared kitchen we could use and there are tables and chairs outside the rooms for dining as well. Tanya and Antony were warm and accommodating hosts who shared helpful information and we loved spending time with Mia, their adorable resident cat. We explored local attractions around Arugam Bay and spotted wildlife including elephants and crocodiles. We also enjoyed a safari in Kumana National Park and a lagoon safari on Pottuvil Lagoon. Additionally, we visited nearby attractions in Pottuvil, Panama and Sangamankanda while staying here as well.

Nice place with lot of nature and cozy vibes

I like atmosphere, very cozy place and also i like owners , they are very polite and hospitable, always ready to help and to give the best advice, i loke the location, location is awesome, because it's 2 minutes from the brach and there is surf spot, you can catch a wave. In general this place is full of positive atmosphere, it is clean and comfortable. But most of all i liked that there is small river and you can see elephants who come to drink water there, so you can see elephants free without safari.

Best place to stay in Arugam Bay! Spacious room and bathroom, AC, everything’s clean, terrace in front of the rooms with chairs and hammocks, you can also use the kitchen. It’s quiet as it is away from the street, and the atmosphere and the owners are really nice. Also nice location with walking distance to everything. Extra plus, they have a little cat which is up for cuddles! We extended our stay here :)

It’s in a good location, close to a beach, plenty of great restaurants and shops around. The host, Tania, was always easy to reach and very helpful during our stay. There’s a kitchen with plenty of utensils. The room was nice, good AC, clean, and a comfortable bed.

The owners were amazing. Super friendly and helped with everything we needed. The location was great and it was very very clean. It was amazing to have a kitchen which also was extremely clean. There is a supermarket right across the street which was also very convenient. We would always come back and very much recommend this hostel.

It has hammocks, WiFi, A kitchen and was very clean. It was very close to the sea as well.

The property is located 100m away from the beach and is one the main road. The host Tanya was very helpful with every queries and made sure our stay was as comfortable as it can be.

I had an incredible experience at Romance in Bay in Arugambay. The hosts, Tania and Anatoly, were absolutely lovely and made me feel so welcome. The location is perfect, close to the beach, and the rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need during the stay. Tania and Anatoly’s warmth and hospitality truly made my stay special, offering great local tips and always being ready to help. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing hosts, Romance in Bay is the place to stay!

We had 2 rooms for adults and kids. First they were at the far end of each other but after one night the owners agreed to switch so we could stay next to each other. The airco was a bit noisy but the rooms are super clean and the fridge was great to have cold water by hand. We liked we could use the kitchen waterboiler for tea and coffee so we could have breakfast at our table and hangmat in front of the room. Pottivil has a super bakery (Rafeek bakery) open till late evenings. A supermarkt with candy, water, banana, yoghurt etc is opposite the street.
