Peaceful and beautiful location in a natural environment, just a 10-minute walk from the beach. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom with an outdoor shower is supercool. The host shared great tips for surf lessons and other activities. The beach safari was one of the nicest experiences we’ve had so far. We even ended up extending our stay (thanks to the puzzling of Raffaëlla) twice until we really had to leave. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were wonderful. Great experience, we would love to come back!

Amazing cabanas, close to the main streat and beach, but just outside so it is nice and quite. Big rooms and bathroom, love the hammock, the breakfast and staff are amazing! Definitely coming back

Kind, helpful and familiar service. Breakfasts were so good, the best roti&sambal we had! The location was also perfect for us- a little bit aside, but still close to the town, restaurants and shops and to the beach( around 7-10 minutes down the path between local houses and small surf resorts. We really loved it.

“Luxury on a budget”

East Surf Cabana was one of our favourite places to stay in Sri Lanka. It has a real family feel with a touch of luxury. From hand towels to housekeeping, the little details were really thought about. We would love to return one day.

“Phenomenal stay in Arugam Bay”

We loved the hospitality of Raf, Sudu, Jada (their 10 yo daughter) and the staff. They took time to get to know us and built a positive rapport immediately. The accommodations were very comfortable and there was a lot of space for our family of 5. They served the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka, as there were plenty of delicious options! Sudu and Raf helped us organize and schedule our adventures whether it was surfing or clothing stores. The main beach was a quick walk and a variety of cafes and restaurants along the way. Our last night we were treated to a fabulous curry dinner prepared by Sudu and the ladies that we enjoyed with all the guests and some of Jada's friends! Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and have a few shots of Arrack with Sudu!!! He certainly has some amazing stories! Super people, super food, super accommodations = super fun time!

“Wonderful property and lovely staff”

Quiet location, yet close to beach and main road. Spacious and cozy rooms, some with outside showers, breezy and very comfortable. Monkey action in the garden, delicious food and amazing staff. Will return!

Excellent place, well maintained and very friendly and attentive staff. Its tucked away from the busy area, yet so close (walking distance to the town) making it an ideal place to relax when you want to and still enjoy the vibrancy of Arugam Bay town when you feel like. Breakfast was great and yummy. We loved every bit of it.

“Perfect stay, highly recommended”

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation; everything was perfect! First of all, the tap water throughout the property is DRINKABLE! For breakfast, there were several options to choose from, including local specialties and VEGAN dishes, all accompanied by the freshest and most delicious avocado and fruits. The staff were kind and attentive. Our room was tastefully decorated, and the lovely private terrace with a hammock provided true comfort, as did the A/C and the fan. The bed was large and comfortable, with a mosquito net included. The open bathroom was very authentic, with hot water and shower gel available. We were visited by a few small frogs, which only made our stay more memorable. The garden is like an oasis, with beautiful and well-maintained plants. We are so grateful to Rafaella and Sudu for operating such a high-quality accommodation, and we can’t wait to return in the future! :)

Best out of the best. Ideal place with authentic atmosphere and comfort. Spent almost a week with Rafaella and Sudu, it was a real pleasure. Beautiful tropical garden, cosy terrace, romantic evening on safari BBQ, delicious breakfasts. For sure I will stay here when next time in Arugam Bay. Everything 😀 The room was spacious, comfy and nice. We loved the open bathroom. The breakfast is amazing (we tried Hungry Surfer, porridge and muesli) All the staff is super nice. And of course don’t miss the barbecue safari !

Rafaela and her staff made us feel welcome and we‘re always ready to help accommodate our wishes and answer questions. Breakfast was great - a different variety of dishes was offered. The cabana was nicely furnished with an outdoor shower and a seating area in front.

The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly. You can pay with a credit card, and they offer free water, which isn't common in Sri Lanka

The room was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of nice breeze with aircon available although we did not need it. Breakfast was provided and delicious in the mornings. The best part was the safe drinking water!! We could drink out of any tap which was a life saviour in the heat. We also loved the Jungle BBQ and Curry night.

Great staff very kind people, great breakfast in the morning, it’s not too far from the main road so you can walk and also not too close so you can have peaceful and quiet nights.
