We had a great stay at Aqua Blue ! It's very close to the beach and all the restaurants. The room is comfortable and the breakfasts are so delicious and very big. The owner Bhasheer went above and beyond for us and really made the stay great.

The host Bassher has to be one of the most incredible hosts I have ever been with, not only was he helping me figure out ways to get from Arugam bay to Ella after I had been scammed but he was always online messaging with activities to do, what food to have for breakfast. He is such a down to earth guy and I will miss him so much when I leave Sri Lanka. Can’t wait till we meet again my friend, thankyou for the best stay.

Basheer the host is a beacon of friendliness and hospitality and the rooms are everything you need, clean, with hammock, good working a/c, nice and big bed and a private terrace/balcony in front. The breakfast which is included is super tasty and just in general great value for money!

It was such a nice stay, and amazing rooms!! The owners went over their way to decorate our room for our anniversary🙏🏼 thank you so much. Pancakes for breakfast was lovely aswell as the shakshuka. Felt very safe and was a perfect place to relax. Location was good so close to the beach and they also provided beach towels. 10 minutes walk from main part of the city, but very walkable and easy. Very clean.

My stay at Aqua Blue Arugam Bay was absolutely phenomenal. Basheer and his team were incredibly accommodating, making the experience truly special from start to finish. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, and breakfast exceeded expectations with an impressive variety of options. A lovely finishing touch was the hammock on the private balcony — a feature most, if not all, rooms enjoy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

From the moment we arrived, we got welcomed with fresh fruite juice and a great explanation on activities and suggestions to do around Arugam bay, we booked the safari with them and was fantastic!🐆🐘. Every morning we had a choice of different things for breakfast, we loved the Shakshuka so delicious! Room and aircon where great! Beach a couple of steps away. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Great hospitality metres from the beach”

Aqua Blue is in a great location, metres from the beach on the quieter end of town but with all the bars and restaurants a short walk away. Basheer was extremely welcoming and helpful in arranging tuk tuks and a lagoon tour (which was excellent), and the breakfast shakshuka was delicious - a great stay!

Basheer is a great host - always smiling and happy to help you. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and they have a big balcony. I would 100% recommend this place. Great value for money. The shakshuka and avocado on toast are both very tasty as well.

We stayed five nights at Aqua Blue in Arugam Bay and had a very pleasant experience. The room was comfortable and the location is beautiful, very close to the beach. Basheer is a kind and attentive host. He was always available if we needed anything and regularly checked whether we would like the room to be cleaned. We were provided with bath towels as well as beach towels, which was very convenient. On our last evening, he prepared a meal for us after Ramadan, which we really appreciated. The breakfast each morning was also very good. We would definitely recommend staying here and would happily return ourselves.

“Perfect guesthouse for a short stay in Arugam Bay”

Situated in a good location off the main strip. Basheer ran Blue Tours safari to Kumana National Park that was amazing to see leopards.

We had truly wonderful stay at this hotel. Basheer has a big heart and goes out of his way to make sure you have everything , you need. The room was super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended, if you are looking for a place to stay.

“Just perfect!”

We stayed here for five nights and it was just perfect for us. Basheer, the owner is such a supportive and nice guy and he cares about everything really well. We booked a safari tour and a transport with him and were really happy. The breakfast is delicious and the location is really good sind it‘s not far to the beach, restaurants and the lagoon. The room was nice and clean and we enjoyed it really.

Really friendly and helpful host, a wonderful balcony and tasty breakfast. Also the fantastic safaris (Pottuvil Lagoon and Kumana) I could easily manage via Aqua Blue.

Barshieer, the manager of Aqua Blue, is very helpful and accommodating, and their breakfast is fantastic. His wife is also very nice and friendly, and you can ask him anything at any time; he'll be happy to help. The rooms are also cleaned regularly.

Super friendly and welcoming owners. The room is simple but has everything you need and was spotless and in a nice quiet street just off the main road. The Shakshuka was the best I've ever had. Id go back just for that. Thank you Basheer.

Spacious, comfortable, very clean rooms with fridge and safe, good airco, nice bathroom and terrace. Very well situated, just out off the busy centre, quiet and still only a few minutes walk to several good restaurants. Varied and tastefull choice for breakfast, good lunch and dinner on demand. But best of all is the kind and welcoming host Basheer who does everything to ensure you have a pleasant stay! He speaks very good English and can arrange different activities. He arranged surf classes for our teenage sons with experienced teachers at a good price who took them to the best surfing spots, lagoon safari, in-house cooking class and transport to our next destination. And the gentile tuktuk-driver Haroun was always there to take us where we needed! Thanks Basheer and Haroun for the nice time in Arugam Bay!

“Superb, clean and relaxed place; book it right now!”

The room was very clean and modern with everything working properly, which is not always the case in Arugam Bay, sadly. Basheer, the owner, is an extremely nice, flexible, helpful and thoughtful man. He knows what true hospitality means! He arranged my affordable taxi to Gal Oya as well, as well as a breakfast package for the early safari. The location is at a quiet, nice place at the beginning of the village. A calm place is sometimes very hard to find in loud Arugam Bay. But enough shops and restaurants are nearby, dont worry. Dont doubt; book this place! The beach is also a 1 minute walk.
