The location is fabulous. Right in the beach. Love watching the Air NZ planes land. 24 hour shop close by. Great swimming location. So lovely to lay on the sun beds on the deck. Jo and Nev best hosts ever!!

Secluded, very few people on the beach. Genuine caring helpful hosts Close to a supermarket , if they had what you wanted! But that's the same for the supermarkets around the island., restaurants close by. Waiting for the planes to come into land and take off , you hear them for a few moments then they are gone.. Only during the day

Jo and Neville were excellent hosts. I liked the location - the beach was primarily used by local families, especially after school and work had finished for the day. I enjoyed watching the planes come down to land, although the (infrequent) take-offs were less entertaining. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the villa was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

We loved the location, surf break on outer reef, swimming, snorkelling, easy walk to Black Rock, comfortable villas, relaxing decks, privacy, closeness to brilliant restaurants and activities, and the accomodating owners, Jo and Nev.

“Paradise at your door step”

All I can say is WOW! Villa: Bang smack right on the beach! Literally waking up to swaying coconut trees, a white sandy beach and crystal blue water every single day was magic. Inside the villa is everything you need. Although we didn’t cook or prepare any food, the kitchen was fully equipped to do so. There are plenty of towels for both showering and swimming. There is also a laundry room onsite which is coin operated and was so easy to use. There are kayaks and snorkelling gear for guest use to. Not all beach front accommodation on the island has the luxury of actually being able to swim in the water due to the coral. But you can 100% swim here. There are bean bags, lounge chairs and picnic tables with umbrellas so you can happily hang out on the private beach all day. The dog and cats onsite are so chill you don’t even notice them. There are local dogs that hang out on the beach but are also not a bother. They do occasionally bark at night but it’s not a biggie. There are noisy roosters, not just on/near the villa but all over the island but it just adds to the island vibe. Location: We had a vehicle so we were able to drive around the island and we do recommend getting a mode of transportation if you plan on eating out or sight seeing. Although the villas are probably in the best location (close to the main township) it’s not what I personally would consider walking distance to get to places. Hospitality: Our hosts, Jo & Neville were nothing short of amazing!! The first two days of our stay we were messed around with our car hire, but without hesitation Jo & Neville would drop us off for dinner or pick us up from town. Every day they would pop by the villas to make sure everyone had what they needed, asked how there days were and to ensure everyone had some type of dinner plans. They were truly so welcoming it was like staying with whānau. I could rave about this place all day. So just do yourself a favour and stay here!

The location was so handy to everything, shop, takeaways all across the road. The town & airport just down the road. We also enjoyed watching the planes coming in just in front of our room & are not annoying at all.

The view from our balcony was lovely and being beachfront was such a bonus. The hosts Neville and Jo were incredibly warm and welcoming, giving us some great tips during our stay and going over and beyond to make our stay great! Loved the kayaks too.

“Our little slice of paradise”

The room was a great size with a good sized deck. The location was superb being directly on the beach front. Being close to the end of the runway, we enjoyed watching the planes come.and go and still managed to have a great sleep. The room was well equipped with everything you need. Short walk to a water station, superette and takeaway. The hosts, Jo and Nev are amazing, and happy to help with any request, big or small. Jo makes amazing shortbread as well! Wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Nikao Absolute Rarotonga Villas. The property was absolutely stunning, with everything we needed for a relaxing and memorable getaway. What truly made our experience exceptional were the lovely hosts, Jo and Nevil. Their kindness, warmth and attention to detail made us feel so welcomed and cared for. Adding to the charm were their adorable pets - Bruno the friendly dog, and Palma the sweet cat. They brought so much joy, and added a homely touch to our stay. Thank you Jo & Nevil for your incredible hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home (and furry companions) with us. We can't wait to return. Lots of love from Samoa

Location was great, very relaxing and quiet. Large outdoor space. Big fan of the Maitre D, Bruno (the dog). Great internet access. Is as described - this property is beachfront. If it were any more beachfront, you'd be sleeping in the water.

The villa was superbly located and a lovely place to stay. Jo and Neville were fantastic hosts and the facilities were clean comfortable and well-appointed.

Great location, 30 min walk from airport/town, relatively quiet location (not swarming with cars/people like other parts of the island) 24 hour store across the road and the BEST spot for plane watching. Room had ample space with lots of storage for our belongings as well a kitchenette and bathroom with a shower/toilet/sink. The bed was huge/comfy, tv had netflix and they provided a tonne of towels! We'd honestly recommend this place purely based on Jo and Nevilles hospitality alone. These guys were so lovely and went above and beyond for us. As soon as we arrived we got a full run down, they checked in on us daily, gave us rides when needed, came out on rescue missions for us as well as providing first aid (we were a lil accident prone this trip) Genuinely such lovely people and made our first trip to Raro amazing! Other positives: Bruno the dog that hangs out on the property all day & loves a pat and the lock box so you dont have to worry about looking after keys while you're out!
