“Magnificent stay”

Can’t recommend highly enough. Stayed one night and had a wonderful dinner and was delighted by the whole experience. The guesthouse is lovely and grand; it was like staying in a historic English manor. The food was exquisite, the wine delicious and the cooked breakfast terrific. The staff were excellent and friendly. So glad we found Petersons Armidale Winery and Guesthouse. Will definitely stay again.

This guesthouse provided a high level of old world charm, delightful scenery and good food. There was a common area with open fires that provides a place to relax or chat with other people.

The service, food, wine and accommodation were all excellent. It was a truly memorable stay for a reasonable price.

Loved the old worlde charm of the building and decor. Appreciated that the heater had been put on in our room as well as the underfloor heating in the bathroom - that was very thoughtful as it was a very cold and rainy evening when we arrived after a long day of travelling.

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and great value. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Complimentary wine tasting was a bonus.

“Country charm”

The Petersons Guesthouse is some 6km from Armidale Town Centre ; it is a large mansion with about 7 rooms for guests. There is no reception, but you press a button and staff comes out. Our room #2 was "old style", but spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was renovated in white/black tiles with a good shower ; the floor is heated. Although the Cellar Door was closed, one of the staff came out to give me a quick rundown on their excellent wines and a few sips to try. In the lounge area they have a couple of open fires, but were reluctant to fire them up until late afternoon ; the place was freezing cold by then, not pleasant to sit and read (once they were lit, it was perfect). They encourage you to dine in and offer a concise 2- or 3-course menu. We opted for a 2-course at $ 60 pp and did not regret it. Nothing negative to report here : really friendly, personal service, delicious fine cuisine and a complimentary port after. The Petersons Mudgee Shiraz at $ 36 for the bottle was wonderful. Breakfast is in a light, sunny room ; you fill out your menu the night before and they serve at the specified time - pretty much standard eggs, toast, etc. Our stay at Petersons was a memorable experience and we regret is was only overnight. We'll have to come back, thank you.

Amazing place! Fireplace and verandas are excellent. Nice park. Restaurant is 5 out of 5. Make sure you book your table - you'll not be disappointed. Excellent breakfast as well.
