“Superb family run stop in a quiet rural place”

The property is very much out in the rural landscape and in the hills above Lake Orta, which makes it an excellent retreat from the busy sightseeing. The decor is slightly old fashioned but very charming. It is great for all ages as it has a pool with small waterslide, small swings for children, and a large shaded eating area. There are local walks out into the country and good shaded parking area. It is family run, with extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast had a wide variety of choice with plenty of fresh fruit, home made yoghurt with cereals and preserves, as well as cooked egg breakfast and bacon. The bar is well stocked and there are some bottles for sale.

The hotel is in a nice location, the restaurant was very good. We will be back next year!

The hotel is absolutely spotless throughout. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel is maintained very well and updated where possible such as mobile phone charging ports in some rooms, large shower heads and nice bed covers. The hotel itself is very traditional such as dark wooden furniture. Good price and nice mountainside location. We were able to drive to the Luge up the hill and to a great Lido 15 minutes drive away called Lido di Gozzano beach which was amazing for lake swimming and has a stunning restaurant with pizzas £8 and fabulous drinks where you can sit with beautiful lakeside views fully covered if it rains.

“A Quiet Haven in the Mountains”

This is a very attractive building in a great location among the mountains of north Italy, close to the Swiss border. There are superb views all around and it is well worth walking around the local area. For a summer stay, there is plentiful outside seating for both drinks and dining. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and extremely hard-working! There’s a small swimming pool with a number of sunloungers. The rooms are old-fashioned in keeping with the style and age of the property and comfortable enough, although the bathroom was a bit small. Breakfast is good and plentiful and you have to have coffee from their fantastic and vintage coffee machine!

We loved staying here. The staff were very kind and helpful. I liked the fact the hotel doesn't have all the mod-cons and it doesn't pretend to be something that it isn't.The room was super clean and well maintained. Super easy to get to the local lakes and areas . If you want a super modern hotel this isn't for you but if you like quirky with excellent customer service this is the place we will definitely book again next year. Thanks for a fabulous 4 nights.

“Great value for money, perfectly”

The decor was traditional and full of character. The rooms were clean, spacious and with access to a good size balcony. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with freshly baked croissants, local cheeses and lovely selection of cured meats. The coffee was outstanding made with a traditional coffee machine. The pool was nice, slightly cold due to cooler weather. The view from the balcony is spectacular!!! Easy access to Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore, 15 minutes away from Mottarone mountain peak. The views from the Mottarone are stunning, absolutely worth visiting!!!

“Traditional hotel with a warm welcome and great food”

Old fashioned charm. Quiet location. Wonderful staff, very friendly and welcoming. Delicious dinner, and good selection of continental breakfast. We enjoyed a swim in the pool. Highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was not exceptional, but good given that it was included in the room rate. The secluded location was nice. Also the hotel design and decoration.

The location is so peaceful but because it is 911m high you can see planes landing and taking off from Milan Malpensa airport and not hear the planes. The breakfast is included.

Very pleasant. Family run, very nice people. Old fashioned, simple. High in the mountains, not overlooking the lake. Good food. Half the rooms have a terrace balcony and its worth getting those. We really enjoyed it

The building, location and staff

A nice place more for a short break on a longer trip than for spending a longer holiday. A stylish hotel set in nature next to a little-used road at an altitude of over 900 m above sea level (air conditioning is not necessary). Simply furnished rooms, but with all the necessary equipment. Probably very popular with cyclists. A few minutes by car to the beautiful lake. Simple breakfast, salty and sweet, but not too much choice, great coffee and drinks. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar, clubhouse and outdoor seating. Under the hotel balconies there is a nice pool with sun loungers.

It is far away from civilization, but that was not the problem. The surroundings were nice.
