Wow, a really unique and beautiful home. The tatami room was so beautiful and unique. Hanneke is a joyful host and we loved staying here.

The Japanese style room was stunning, with lots of space and beautiful furniture. We slept so well! House have a private parking, location is perfect, landlord is friendly and rooms are clean and beautiful. One of the most exciting stay during our travels this year. Highly recommend! Thank you!

It’s a very cozy house, very nice decorated. The room was spacious and everything was clean and tidy, I felt very comfortable. The owner was very kind, she allowed me to leave my luggage and even drop me at the train station :)

We stayed in the Japanese room which felt like being in a film set. It was absolutely stunning, every detail beautifully designed and considered. We enjoyed having use of the kitchen facilities and lounge, where we met friendly and interesting guests. Our host Hanneke was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the area, giving us great recommendations for places to visit. Arita is a beautiful town to explore by foot from the property, and nearby Okawachiyama is another stunning hidden gem of a place to visit to explore the potteries, just a short drive away.

“Wonderful stay, great location, exceptional host”

The guest house is in the perfect location to explore Arita on foot. A short taxi ride from the main train station or a short walk from a smaller train station. The Japanese style room in the main house I stayed in was of very generous size and very comfortable. The host is very friendly, happily shares tipps of what to do and where to eat and goes out of her way to support her guests. I will definitely come back if I come back to Arita!

Hannake provides a lovely and clean place, making us feel like home. The location is in the middle of the small old town. In 5-7 minutes of walking distance, there are 4 different tasty foods. She also gave us a free ride to the station next day. The Koransha, a must-buy famous porcelain store, is just across the street.

“Beautiful guesthouse and a wonderful host.”

First of all this place is gorgeous! We stayed in the Tatami room and it is spacious and spectacular with all its beautifully constructed wood. Secondly, Hanneke is a superb host. She drove us to the supermarket, Yamato, and helped us with a bunch of other stuff. Arita is pretty remote, so buying your own groceries for some of the meals is a must. On certain days, nearby restaurants are mostly closed. But Hanneke can always recommend the best options.

Beautiful wooden house with traditional rooms. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our discussions with the amazing host too. Location is walking distance to great restaurants and all points of interest in Arita.

The owner was exceptionally helpful and recommended where to go and where to eat. She also helped to get me to a ceramics factory as I wasn't driving.

“Home away from home”

Due to other people's reservations, we took whatever room was available. We ended up staying 3 nights in 3 different rooms and each one was great. Guests share washrooms and shower/bath but this was never a problem. Much thought and love has gone into making this guesthouse comfortable and beautiful. Great location from which to explore Arita on foot, and Okawachiyama, Hirado and Ikitsuki islands by car. Thank you Hanneke for having us!

“Clean and nice stay with a wonderfully nice host”

The signage for the accommodation was a bit small and had a bit of legwork to check out the neighbourhood before being directed there but no major issue as the neighbours are really nice. With our bigger luggage and having to deal with the steep wooden stairs was a slight challenge but otherwise was good. The hot bath 🛀 was really really nice as it was pretty cold. Love the old bits of the traditional house that was preserved. The host was really nice and helpful as she stays there too
